Juuga emerges as a central antagonist within the series, originating from the enigmatic Kaiju Eugenicists. His name draws inspiration from the Chinese proverb “駑馬十駕” (Dobajuuga), reflecting a philosophy where relentless determination empowers the ordinary to surpass the gifted. Five millennia before the story’s present, Juuga and his comrades—among them Gauma—harnessed kaiju to elevate their civilization, revered as “dragon controllers.” This unity shattered when their nation turned against them, sparking a cycle of vengeance. Gauma, aligning with a princess, struck the fatal blow that left Juuga scarred and seemingly lifeless. Resurrected in the modern age, Juuga and his faction condemn Gauma as a traitor for rejecting their kaiju-driven ambitions. Intrigued by Yomogi Asanaka, Yume Minami, and Koyomi Yamanaka’s ability to command Dynazenon, Juuga tests their potential lineage as kaiju controllers. A tense confrontation with Gauma culminates in a failed plea for reconciliation, cementing Juuga’s embittered resolve. In the climactic battle, Juuga and his allies deploy “Instance Domination” to fuse with the apocalyptic kaiju Gagula, self-destructively amplifying its power. Their gambit collapses, consuming them alongside the creature they sought to wield. Despite his composed and methodical nature—a contrast to his fiery cohorts—Juuga’s strategic brilliance shines through his mastery of kaiju analysis and precision control via “Instance Domination,” directing entities like Greyjhom and Gibzorg. His later-life visual decline manifests in the glasses he adopts, adding a layer of vulnerability to his calculating persona. Notably, Juuga’s aesthetic echoes musician Masayoshi Ōishi, a connection playfully acknowledged through official social media exchanges and a live concert where Ōishi mirrored the character’s distinctive attire.
