Description
Kinshirō Kusatsu is a third-year student at Binan High School, where he holds the position of student council president and is recognized as the top student in his graduating class. He is the leader of the school's Conquest Club, a group dedicated to world domination under the guidance of an alien creature named Zundar. As a child, Kinshirō was a kind, soft-spoken, and sensitive boy who shared a very close friendship with Atsushi Kinugawa, with the two using the affectionate nicknames Kin-chan and At-chan. They spent much of their time together, often going stargazing, which was Atsushi's favorite hobby. The depth of Kinshirō's childhood feelings is illustrated by a wish he made on a shooting star, hoping to remain friends with Atsushi forever.

This close bond was shattered by a misunderstanding that would define Kinshirō's personality for years to come. One day, Atsushi, who loves curry, decided to go eat it alone out of consideration for Kinshirō, who dislikes the dish. On his way, Atsushi encountered En Yufuin, who happened to have a discount coupon for the same restaurant, and they went to eat together. Kinshirō witnessed this from a distance and interpreted it as a deep personal rejection, believing Atsushi had chosen En's company over his own. Feeling betrayed, Kinshirō ended their friendship without ever explaining the reason, and his warm personality hardened into something cold, reserved, and often arrogant. He developed an intense aversion to chaos and disorder, becoming a strict enforcer of rules with an almost obsessive need for control. As a reflection of his wealthy upbringing, he sometimes displays a skewed perception of everyday life, such as attempting to finance luxury items like finger bowls with the school budget or offering to buy an entire resort during a class trip.

Kinshirō's motivations are deeply rooted in his past hurt. His initial goal of world domination, pursued through the Conquest Club, can be seen as an extension of his desire to purge the "foolishness and barbarism" he perceives in the world and create a society of perfect order and discipline. However, his personal motivation is far more emotional. His unresolved feelings for Atsushi remain a constant source of inner turmoil, and he harbors a strong dislike for En Yufuin, whom he blames for the loss of his friendship. Seeing Atsushi with En easily provokes jealousy, and any mention of his former friend can cause him to become angry or, later, flustered. In the story, Kinshirō serves as a primary antagonist for much of the first season. As the leader of the Conquest Club, he is the rival to the Earth Defense Club, with his transformed state, the Golden Chevalier Aurite, directly opposing the heroes.

Kinshirō's relationships are central to his character arc. The most significant is his painful estrangement from and eventual reconciliation with Atsushi Kinugawa. This reconciliation is a pivotal turning point, triggered when Atsushi selflessly protects Kinshirō from a falling pillar, reaffirming that he still considers him a friend. This act of loyalty allows Kinshirō to let go of his grudge, and he becomes a happier, more relaxed person. He also grows to be overprotective of Atsushi, reacting with extreme urgency if he feels his friend might be in danger. Within the Conquest Club, he shares an amicable bond with his fellow members, vice-president Ibushi Arima and Akoya Gero. He relies on Arima, who has been by his side since their second year, and respects Akoya, who appreciates Kinshirō's vision of a disciplined world. His relationship with Yumoto Hakone of the Defense Club is friendlier in supplementary materials, but in the main story, they exist as thematic opposites; while Yumoto represents the warm, radiant aspect of light, Kinshirō initially embodies its blinding, cold, and corruptive potential.

Kinshirō undergoes a significant development, transitioning from a cold antagonist to a redeemed ally. After reconciling with Atsushi at the end of the first season, his demeanor softens dramatically. He is shown to get flustered easily, often blushing at the mere mention of Atsushi's name, and his overall personality becomes visibly happier. His role in the story also shifts; while he remains a leader of the Conquest Club, his goals move away from conquest, and he and his team eventually fight alongside the Earth Defense Club. In later series, such as Eternal Love, he appears as a supporting character, maintaining his reconciled dynamic with Atsushi and the other defenders.

Kinshirō possesses several notable abilities. To transform, he holds a rhombus-shaped ring on his index finger and calls out Conquest, becoming the Golden Chevalier Aurite, whose attribute is Light and color is Gold. His initial transformed uniform is a black military-style coat with a red cape and boots, which symbolizes his antagonistic role. Later, following his redemption, his uniform changes to a white-and-gold version. He wields a rapier as his weapon and can emit powerful rays of light from his hands. He has a signature group attack called Ultima Adamas, performed with the other members of Caerula Adamas, where he unleashes a golden ray from his rapier. When his negative emotions overwhelm him, particularly his resentment towards Atsushi, he can transform into a corrupted alter ego called Dark Aurite. In this state, his eyes turn red, his lips violet, and he gains access to darker, more destructive attacks such as Ater Aurum, a blast of black rays, and Gigant Aurum, a red and black energy beam. Outside of his combat abilities, his hobbies include archery, and he holds a Virgo birthday on September 12, standing 176 cm tall with silver hair and green eyes.
