Mallorie Rodak
Description
Mallorie Rodak is an American voice actress associated with the English dubbing industry, primarily known for her work with companies like Crunchyroll (formerly Funimation). Born on August 16, 1987, in Dallas, Texas, she has built a career voicing characters in hundreds of anime series, films, and video games. Her path to voice acting was rooted in performance; she trained in acting, musical theater, and opera from a young age, holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University, and studied under Tony-nominated actor Robert Westenberg.
Rodak's entry into anime voice work came after a period of persistence. Despite an initial cold inquiry to Funimation not leading to immediate work, she continued to build her career in commercial voiceover. It was four years later that she booked her first anime role, after which she went on to accumulate hundreds of credits. Her early and notable roles include Yukino Agria in Fairy Tail and Rossweisse in the High School DxD series.
Her filmography is extensive and includes a wide array of characters across various genres. She voices the High Elf Archer in the Goblin Slayer series, the Great Sage/Raphael in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and its spin-off The Slime Diaries, Solution Epsilon in Overlord III and Isekai Quartet 2, and Nia Honjō in Date A Live IV. She is also recognized for roles such as Miyo Takano in Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU and SOTSU, Fanis Laminitus in How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord Omega, Prince of Wales in Azur Lane, Sayuki Tokihara in Hensuki, Carmilla in Kemono Michi: Rise Up, and Astaroth in Combatants Will Be Dispatched!. Other credits include Maya in Megalobox 2: Nomad, Yuika Shiwahime in Hanebad!, Matsuri Hata in Assault Lily Bouquet, Ryoko in AFTERLOST, Yumi in Senran Kagura Shinovi Master, Leticia in Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, Mayumi Tachibana in Mix: Meisei Story, Orsola Aquinas in A Certain Magical Index II and III, Miyuki Kujō in Shomin Sample, and Nichiki Yatsuho in Miss caretaker of Sunohara-sou. She also performed as Elinalise Dragonroad in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation.
Within the industry, Rodak has frequently collaborated with a large circle of fellow voice actors based in the Texas region. Data from casting aggregators indicates she has worked alongside Monica Rial on numerous productions more than any other actor, followed by frequent collaborations with Sarah Wiedenheft, Alexis Tipton, and Jad Saxton, among many others.
Rodak's work has garnered recognition and led to opportunities beyond standard voice acting. In 2014, she was nominated for Breakthrough Voice Actress of the Year by the industry site Behind the Voice Actors. Outside of anime, her narration of a true crime audiobook was named one of 2018's Best Nonfiction Audiobooks by Library Journal. A major career milestone was being cast as the titular character, Frieren, in the critically acclaimed series Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. The role brought her widespread attention from fans, who responded positively to her performance of lines like "Aura, kill yourself," which became an internet phenomenon. Rodak has noted that voicing Frieren was a special experience, allowing her to connect with a global community of fans and attend her first overseas convention, MCM Comic Con London, in 2024.
