Description
Kyō Goshōin, who uses the in-game name Apricot, is the student council president of her high school and the guild leader of the Alley Cats in the MMORPG Legendary Age. She comes from a wealthy family; her father serves on the school board, and her household owns several companies, giving her considerable financial resources and influence. In her real life, she is a second-year high school student with long, dark purple hair and yellow eyes. She possesses a natural confidence that often borders on arrogance, and she self-identifies as an S-type personality, enjoying taking charge and orchestrating events. Her position and assertive behavior initially leave her without close friends, as other students keep their distance out of respect or intimidation.
Her motivation for playing online games is a genuine enjoyment of the game world and a desire to connect with others in a setting where her status does not matter. As the guild master, she goes by the title Master and initially uses a male mage avatar, a choice that reflects her playful approach to in-game identity. Her calm and strategic mind make her an effective leader, and she is quick to use her real-world authority to solve problems for her guild. When the group discovers they all attend the same school, she leverages her position as student council president to create the Modern Communication Electronic Games Club, known as the Netoge Club, giving them a sanctioned space to play together after school. This decision is driven by her motivation to help fellow guild members, especially Ako, who struggles to separate game and reality.
In the story, Kyō acts as the catalyst for many group activities. She organizes the first offline meeting that reveals the guild members' true identities, and she regularly uses her wealth to fund in-game items and equipment for the team. Her key relationships include her guildmates: she respects Hideki (Rusian) as a reliable tank, she treats Ako with a mix of exasperation and protective guidance, and she shares a competitive understanding with Akane (Schwein). Over the course of the series, Kyō becomes more socially integrated, learning to balance her authoritative nature with genuine friendship. Her notable abilities include sharp leadership, high-level game knowledge as a mage, and the practical power of her family's money and school influence, which she uses to ensure the group can enjoy their hobby together without real-world obstacles.
