Satomi Arai is a Japanese voice actress born on July 4, 1980, in Saitama Prefecture. She began her career in 2001, initially focusing on dubbing foreign films and television series, with her debut role being the voice of Caitlin in the drama Caitlin's Way. After 2005, her work in anime expanded significantly. In 2011, she was awarded the Best Supporting Actress award at the 5th Seiyu Awards. She was formerly affiliated with yu-rin and became a freelancer in 2012, later founding her own agency, Arai Voice Works.

Arai is widely recognized for her distinctive and high-pitched voice, which she has employed in a wide array of notable roles across long-running and popular franchises. One of her most iconic and career-defining performances is as Kuroko Shirai in the A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun series, a role for which she won her Seiyu Award. Other significant and recurring roles include Beatrice in Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- and its related Isekai Quartet series, Peke in the To Love-Ru franchise, Ranko Hata in Seitokai Yakuindomo, and Bisca Connell in Fairy Tail. She also voiced Sakura Kaname across multiple installments of the Fafner franchise, including Fafner in the Azure and Fafner EXODUS.

Her filmography demonstrates a remarkable versatility, often playing comedic, eccentric, or non-human characters.
