Description
"RobiHachi" is a 12-episode anime series set in a futuristic universe where interstellar travel and advanced technology are commonplace. The story centers on Robby Yaji, a middle-aged man struggling with debt and a string of bad luck, and Hatchi Kita, a young, optimistic debt collector tasked with retrieving money from Robby. Their paths cross when Robby, desperate to escape his financial troubles, impulsively steals a spaceship and flees Earth. Hatchi, determined to fulfill his duty, pursues Robby across the galaxy, leading to an unlikely partnership.
As the two travel together, they encounter a variety of eccentric characters and bizarre planets, each with its own unique culture and challenges. Their journey is driven by Robby's desire to reach the legendary paradise known as Isekandar, a place rumored to grant visitors their deepest wishes. Along the way, they are joined by Yang, a mysterious and powerful alien girl with her own connection to Isekandar, and a sentient, shape-shifting robot named Motsuo, who provides both comic relief and occasional assistance.
The narrative blends comedy, adventure, and science fiction, with episodic storylines that explore themes of friendship, redemption, and self-discovery. Robby and Hatchi's dynamic evolves from antagonistic to cooperative as they face various obstacles, including rival bounty hunters, alien conspiracies, and their own personal insecurities. The series balances lighthearted humor with moments of introspection, particularly as the characters confront their pasts and motivations for seeking Isekandar.
The overarching plot gradually reveals deeper layers, including the true nature of Isekandar and its significance to the characters' lives. The finale ties together the series' comedic and dramatic elements, offering a resolution to Robby and Hatchi's journey while leaving room for interpretation about their future. "RobiHachi" stands out for its imaginative world-building, quirky character interactions, and a narrative that combines episodic adventures with an underlying quest for meaning and fulfillment.
