Azumi Waki

Description
Azumi Waki is a Japanese voice actress and singer from Tokyo, born on September 8, 1994. Initially aspiring to become a flight attendant, she shifted her focus to voice acting during high school after feeling her English skills were insufficient for that career path. Her interest in anime and the voice acting profession grew from the age of 13. To pursue this new goal, she enrolled in the Tokyo Anime Voice Acting College after her third year of high school, gaining experience by working as a radio assistant personality while studying. Upon graduating, she became affiliated with the talent agency Haikyō in 2014.

That same year, she was also cast as Eri Higuchi in the anime Ani Tore! EX. The following year, she landed a lead role as Galko in the short-form anime Please Tell Me! Galko-chan, where she also performed the opening theme song with her co-stars.

Her career continued to gain momentum with several prominent roles. In 2017, she voiced the main character Maika Sakuranomiya in the popular café comedy Blend S, again performing the opening and ending theme songs as part of the unit Blend A alongside her co-stars Akari Kitō and Anzu Haruno. That year, she was also cast as Special Week in the multimedia franchise Uma Musume Pretty Derby, a role she would reprise across multiple seasons and adaptations, making it one of her most defining performances.

Throughout the late 2010s and into the 2020s, Waki's filmography expanded significantly with a wide variety of characters. She has been credited in numerous series, including Rem Galleu in How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord and its sequel, Ellie in Ms. vampire who lives in my neighborhood, Senko in The Helpful Fox Senko-san, Shion Kujō in Are You Lost?, Mile in Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!, Fina in Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, Hinata Tachibana in Tokyo Revengers, Nagisa Minase in Girlfriend, Girlfriend, Flatorte in I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level, Anne Shelley in My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, Hatsuka Suzushiro in Call of the Night, Nanao Inusaka in Orient, Natsumi Ōhashi in More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers, Rei Saiga in Shangri-La Frontier, and Kanade in Beast Tamer, among many others.

Her work is not limited to television anime. She has also voiced characters in original net animations like Null in Null & Peta and Tenkorin Okakura in Oshiete Hokusai!: The Animation, as well as in theatrical films such as The Orbital Children, where she played Konoha Nanase. In video games, in addition to her debut role, she is known for voicing Lapis Rosenberg in The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie and Sayuri in Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation. Beyond acting, she has been a regular radio personality and, in January 2020, made her debut as a solo singer under the record label Nippon Columbia.

In recognition of her work as a rising talent in the industry, Waki received the Award for Best Rookie Actress at the 15th Seiyu Awards in 2021. In her personal life, she announced her marriage in August 2023 and the birth of her first child in February 2025.
