Description
Natsumi Ōhashi is a teenage girl with long maroon hair, red eyes, and is sometimes depicted with a cat-like mouth. Slightly shorter than her friend Akari Watanabe, she wears the school uniform: a light blue sleeve shirt with a blue medium bow, dark blue skirt, brown shoes, and white and blue legwarmers. She accessorizes with manicured nails painted pink or red and a pink scrunchie on her right wrist.
Extroverted and bubbly, Natsumi frequently displays a cheerful smile. She enjoys social activities like visiting cafés or karaoke with friends. Physically affectionate, she often hugs her companions and is generally friendly, though she uses nicknames like "Glasses-kun" for Sadaharu Kamo and "Virgin-kun" for Jirō Yakuin, sometimes slipping into these unintentionally despite their rudeness. She actively supports her friends' emotional well-being, offering advice or comfort. Academically struggling, she became the class PR person to improve grades, acknowledging she was in danger of failing. She exhibits less maturity than her friend Sachi Takamiya, shown through childlike behaviors such as referring to herself in third person and pretending to be a detective by using her hair as a mustache to help Akari pursue Jirō.
She enrolled at Seishun Academy before her third year and had been friends with Akari for at least two years prior to the series' start, during which Akari confided in her about her crush on Minami. Natsumi has a boyfriend named Ryō, who attends a different school and has not physically appeared.
Natsumi is closest to Akari and Sachi. She fiercely supports Akari's romantic pursuits. With Sachi, she is inseparable; they frequently tease Jirō together without malice. Her interactions with Jirō involve lighthearted teasing about his virginity, though she genuinely wishes for him to find love, particularly with Akari. She assists him with tasks and attempts to use his proper name instead of "Virgin-kun," albeit inconsistently. She maintains friendly neutrality with Sadaharu Kamo, calling him "Glasses-kun," and doesn't mind being paired with him. She finds Shū Terafune bothersome due to his persistent crush on Akari, leading to physical confrontations when his actions interfere.
Her surname Ōhashi means "big, great" and "bridge," derived from Ōhashi Station. The name Natsumi, written in kanji, can mean "summer" and "beautiful," or "vegetables/greens" and "pick/pluck".
