Alexis Tipton

Description
Alexis Tipton is an American voice actress and ADR director who has been prominent in the anime dubbing industry since 2008, primarily known for her work with Funimation. Over her career, she has lent her voice to a wide array of characters in English-language adaptations of numerous anime series, films, and video games.

Tipton's career began in the late 2000s, with her debut role being Yuri Ando in Bamboo Blade in 2009. She quickly established herself in the industry with early leading roles such as Sun Seto in My Bride is a Mermaid and Mizuki Himeji in the Baka and Test series. Other significant early performances that helped define her career include Moka Akashiya in Rosario + Vampire, Musubi in Sekirei, and Inori Yuzuriha in Guilty Crown.

Throughout the 2010s and into the 2020s, Tipton has been consistently cast in major roles across a diverse range of series. She is well-known for portraying complex and popular female characters, such as the enigmatic Kurumi Tokisaki in the long-running Date A Live franchise and the fiercely intelligent Kaguya Shinomiya in the critically acclaimed romantic comedy Kaguya-sama: Love is War. Her filmography also includes notable roles like Mei Hatsume in My Hero Academia, Iris in Fire Force, and the dual role of Kotą Hyakuya and Mahiru Hīragi in Seraph of the End. In addition to these, she voices numerous other characters, including Lupusregina Beta in Overlord, Chuchu in Show by Rock!!, and Hinata Sakaguchi in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, showcasing her extensive range.

A notable aspect of Tipton's career is her succession of voice actress Laura Bailey in several high-profile roles. This pattern is most evident in the Dragon Ball franchise, where she took over the role of Kid Trunks for Dragon Ball Super and related projects, starting with the video game Dragon Ball Xenoverse, due to Bailey's scheduling conflicts and the logistical demands of recording fusion character voices. Tipton also succeeded Bailey as Platinum the Trinity in BlazBlue: Alter Memory.

Beyond voice acting, Tipton has also taken on significant behind-the-scenes work as an ADR (automated dialogue replacement) director. Her solo directorial debut was for the series Masamune-kun's Revenge. She has since directed the English adaptations for other shows, including WorldEnd, Restaurant to Another World, and served as an assistant director on Love Live! Sunshine!!. This dual role as both performer and director highlights her comprehensive understanding of the dubbing process. Her voice can also be heard in various video games, with credits including Lucina in the Fire Emblem series, Pascal in Nier: Automata, and Musse Egret in The Legend of Heroes series.
