Description
Gina Boyd is a foreign transfer student from Russia attending Koyo Girl's Academy as a second-year in class 2-B. She is tall with chin-length white hair and blue eyes, and her gym attire consists of a short gray tank top and matching short shorts.
Her personality is intensely competitive, a trait fueled by her arm-wrestling loss to Hibiki Sakura. This single defeat motivated her move to Japan, her transfer to the academy, and her decision to live in Hibiki's house for a rematch. She shares a strong appreciation for muscles with Akemi Soryuin. An enthusiast of Japanese culture, especially cosplay, her enthusiasm sometimes leads to overly intense behavior, such as immediately asking a cosplayer for contact information and the clothes off their back. Despite this, she is generally considered a nice person.
Gina trained in martial arts from childhood and was a member of the Silverman Gym's Moscow branch. She is the niece of Ivan Karaev, who disapproves of her reinforcement of Russian stereotypes. Her journey begins at a Japanese airport, where she loses the arm-wrestling tournament to Hibiki, leading to her enrollment at the academy and moving in with her. In class 2-B, she is classmates with Akemi and initially mistakes another student for Hibiki. She later discovers Satomi Tachibana's secret cosplay hobby and forms a cosplay group with her and others, keeping Satomi's secret because she is a fan of her cosplay persona, Yuria Riko.
Trained in Sambo, Gina is an orthodox arm-wrestler. She previously won fifth place in a Moscow tournament and had never lost to a girl her age before Hibiki. Her specialized technique is the hanging arm style.
She views Hibiki Sakura as a rival and supports her romantic pursuits. She gets along well with Akemi Soryuin over their mutual love of muscles. She is a massive fan of Sakaguchi Mei to the point of stalker-like behavior and has a competitive dynamic with Utsunomiya Koharu, whom she wishes to defeat after a sparring loss.
Gina is actively looking for a boyfriend. She stays in Hibiki's old room, cannot handle hot temperatures, and learned Japanese by watching anime. She often confuses Chinese and Japanese culture, believing figures like Jackie Chan and kung fu films are Japanese, and is bad at geography, thinking Hong Kong is in Japan. She is unaware Russia lacks an Obon Festival and wishes to become a kung fu action star. A subtle name shout-out exists between her and Kristal Gerson; switching their first names results in the names of two Russian pornstars. She has four sisters.
