Description
Noa Takigawa is a first-year student at Suzaku High School, assigned to class 1-C, and is the only first-year among the seven witches. She is a petite girl with light-blue hair tied into two loose pigtails with ribbons, and her red eyes are often partially hidden by her bangs. Her witch ability is known as Retrospective, which allows her to see the traumatic memories of anyone she kisses by experiencing those events in her own dreams.

Noa carries a painful past: she was once locked inside a storage room used by the Supernatural Studies Club by her classmates as an act of bullying, and she was unable to escape until a teacher found her. The humiliation of that incident left her with deep emotional scars. While confined, she discovered a notebook that detailed the witch legend, which set her on the path to awakening her power. This trauma shapes much of her initial behavior: she is guarded, suspicious, and quick to act out in a sharp or troublesome manner. She refers to herself in the third person and often speaks and acts boldly.

Her primary motivation is to protect her three friends—Ichikawa, Goda, and Nishina—who were also branded as problem students and became social outcasts alongside her. Viewing them as her found family, she initially tries to get the other witches expelled from school in order to eliminate any threat to her circle. This brings her into direct conflict with Ryuu Yamada and the Supernatural Studies Club when they begin searching for the witches. However, after Yamada kisses her and witnesses her traumatic memory, he does not mock or reject her; instead, he accepts her fully. This act of acceptance allows Noa to lower her defenses. She develops a strong friendship with Yamada and later grows a genuine crush on him, becoming one of his most loyal allies.

As the story progresses, Noa's role evolves. She loses her Retrospective ability at one point and becomes the spotter for Ushio Igarashi, using her awareness of other witches to help track them. She also takes on the position of president of the Supernatural Studies Club when it faces disbandment, stepping up to ensure its survival. Her personality becomes more openly affectionate and playful toward those she trusts, although she retains her mischievous streak. She remains fiercely protective of her friends and acts out of a desire to help them, even when her methods are unorthodox.

Noa's relationships are central to her character. With Ryuu Yamada, she goes from enemy to trusted friend and romantic interest. With Urara Shiraishi, she initially tries to have her expelled but later develops a cordial, respectful relationship. She remains wary of the student council president Toranosuke Miyamura for much of the story due to his secretive nature. Her bond with her three friends remains the strongest emotional anchor for her actions throughout the series. In terms of development, Noa transitions from a traumatized, reactive antagonist to a warm, dependable member of the Supernatural Studies Club, learning to trust others beyond her small circle and to accept help when she needs it.
