Description
Loretta Cristiano Amodio is the fourteen-year-old head of the Cristiano Family, one of the four major mafia families that control the city of Ergastulum. She inherited the position after the death of her father, Luca Cristiano, who had been the former boss. As the new leader, she oversees the distribution of the drug Celebrer, which is essential for the survival of the Twilights, the superhuman individuals who are dependent on the substance. She also owns and operates a club called Bastard, which functions as both a brothel and her base of operations. Despite her youth and petite stature, Loretta commands respect and wields significant influence within the city’s criminal underworld.

In terms of personality, Loretta is a study in contrasts. When handling family business, she is serious, resolute, and refuses to be intimidated, even in the face of losses or threats from rival families like the Corsica Family. She takes her responsibilities very seriously and understands that as the head of the family, she must make hard decisions, such as lifting the protection of a former subordinate if that person leaves the family, regardless of personal attachment. However, when she is off duty, she behaves much closer to her actual age. She becomes flustered when called a child and shows a more temperamental side. She is informal and affectionate with her family members, often accompanying orders with childish gestures like flicking a subordinate’s forehead and calling them affectionate nicknames such as “big brother.” She is close to all her people and maintains a familial atmosphere within the Cristiano organization.

Loretta’s primary motivation is the survival and protection of the Twilights under her care. Following in her father’s footsteps, she struggles to keep them safe within Ergastulum, a city where anti-Twilight sentiment is strong. She often clashes with Uranos Corsica, the head of the Corsica family, who harbors deep hatred for the Twilights. Loretta does not let herself be cowed by the older man’s intimidation tactics, standing her ground to defend her people.

Her role in the story is that of a young mafia boss who provides support and shelter for the Twilights, acting as a stabilizing force in the chaotic power dynamics of Ergastulum. She is rarely seen without her two bodyguards, Galahad and Marco, who protect her from harm. She also interacts with the Handymen, Worick and Nicolas, and others who become involved in the conflicts surrounding the Twilights.

Loretta’s development is shaped by the premature loss of her father, which forced her to grow up quickly and assume adult responsibilities. She learned to balance the harshness of her job with the fleeting moments of normal childhood. Her notable abilities are not superhuman; she is a normal human who relies on her intelligence, authority, and a gun she carries for personal protection when her bodyguards are not present. She is a capable leader who commands loyalty through a mix of stern resolve and genuine care for her family.
