Kana Ueda is a Japanese voice actress and singer born on June 9, 1980, in Ikoma, Nara Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent agency I'm Enterprise. Raised in Osaka Prefecture, Ueda was involved in a children's theater company from a young age and was active in cosplay during her school years. She is a graduate of Kobe College's department of general culture. Her voice acting career began in 2001, the same year she also debuted as a singer by performing the theme song Over the FANTASY for the anime Final Fantasy: Unlimited.

Ueda is widely recognized for her extensive and varied portfolio of anime roles. One of her most iconic and enduring characters is Rin Tohsaka from the Fate franchise, a role she has reprised across numerous series including Fate/stay night, Fate/Zero, Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, and multiple entries in the Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya and Heaven's Feel film series. Within the same franchise, she also voices the goddesses Ishtar and Ereshkigal. Another significant long-term role is Hayate Yagami in the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha series, appearing in A's, StrikerS, and various films. Her filmography also includes Yumi Fukuzawa in Maria Watches Over Us, Saki Miyanaga in Saki, Mii Konori in A Certain Scientific Railgun, Momo Kawashima in Girls und Panzer, IF in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series, and Anastasia Hoshin in Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-.

Beyond these signature roles, Ueda has demonstrated her range in a wide array of other productions. She has lent her voice to Yuzuki Fuwa in Assassination Classroom, Grethe Wenzel in 86, Kinon Bachika in Gurren Lagann the Movie, and Akira Himi in Accel World. In the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha film series, she also portrays the character Dearche. Her recent work includes roles in Re:Monster as Gobue and SHIBUYA♡HACHI as Nana. In addition to anime, Ueda is active in video games, voicing characters such as Rachel Alucard in the BlazBlue series and Marion Quinn in the Atelier series, as well as providing the Japanese voice for Yoimiya in Genshin Impact.

Throughout her career, Ueda has been involved in several musical collaborations. She was a member of the voice acting units N'S and M's, formed with other actresses from series like Nogizaka Haruka no Secret. Known for her upbringing in the Kansai region, she frequently utilizes a Kansai dialect in her performances. She is also an avid gamer and mahjong enthusiast, a hobby that has earned her the nickname "Mahjong Princess of the Voice Acting World".
