TV-Series
Description
Luna Wright is a supporting character in the fourth season of Dr. Stone, subtitled Science Future. Before the petrification event, Luna was a medical student who came from a wealthy and influential family. Her father held a high position in the United States government, which helped her gain admission to medical school. However, she struggled academically and was the only student in her class to fail her courses. Despite repeated failures, she demonstrated determination and resilience by always trying again. Her primary motivation for studying medicine was a desire to find an intelligent and accomplished husband; she dreamed of forming a powerful couple and feared the prospect of remaining unmarried.
During the night of the petrification, Luna was attending a high-level government meeting about the phenomenon alongside figures such as Dr. Xeno, Stanley Snyder, and others. She was turned to stone along with everyone else but, following Stanley’s advice, kept her mind active by repeating a personal mantra: "I am a cool-headed, empowered woman." Thousands of years later, Dr. Xeno revived Luna using nitric acid, and she became a member of his American colony.
In the Stone World, Luna initially worked for Dr. Xeno, assisting with his projects. She was sent on a mission to infiltrate the Kingdom of Science’s ship, the Perseus, posing as a defector. Her orders were to identify the Kingdom’s leader so that Stanley could assassinate him. During her time aboard the Perseus, Luna grew fond of the Kingdom of Science members and, in particular, became enamored with Senku Ishigami. She was attracted to his intelligence and dedication, which fit her ideal of a partner. When the moment came to signal Stanley, she hesitated and did not point out Senku; nevertheless, Stanley deduced the target and shot Senku, seriously wounding him. After this, Luna chose to switch allegiance to the Kingdom of Science, helping to care for Senku’s injuries and even proposing a romantic relationship to him. Senku did not reciprocate her feelings, but he accepted her as an ally.
Luna’s personality is a mix of romantic idealism and practical determination. She loves the idea of romance and marriage, openly pursuing a relationship with Senku. At the same time, she is capable of acting coolly under pressure, repeatedly telling herself she is a composed and empowered woman to maintain focus. Her background in medicine makes her knowledgeable in surgery, and after defecting, she serves as a surgeon for the Kingdom of Science, balancing her romantic nature with courageous medical expertise. She is also observant and resourceful, as shown by her initial spy work.
Key relationships include her one-sided romantic interest in Senku, her respectful but ultimately severed connection with Dr. Xeno, and her growing bond with the other members of the Kingdom of Science, such as Taiju, Gen, and Kohaku. She is initially a double agent but develops genuine loyalty to her new allies.
Throughout the story, Luna undergoes clear development. She begins as a spy for Xeno, motivated by her desire for a powerful partner, but transitions into a committed member of the Kingdom of Science, acting out of genuine care for Senku and the group. Her medical skills become valuable to the team’s broader goal of building a spaceship and reaching the moon. Notable abilities include her medical training, her proficiency in surgery, and her capacity for infiltration and observation. She does not possess any superhuman or combat abilities, relying instead on her intellect, persistence, and interpersonal skills.
