Akira Sekine is a Japanese voice actress affiliated with the agency Aptepro. She was born on December 16th in Tokyo. Sekine is a graduate of the Nihon Kogakuin College's voice acting and drama department and is also part of the 3rd graduating class of the Aptepro affiliated training school.

Sekine made her debut as a voice actress in 2014, providing the voice for a young Raku Ichijou in the television anime series Nisekoi. In the years following her debut, she has built a substantial career with a wide variety of roles. Her filmography demonstrates her range, from leading heroines to mysterious antagonists.

Among her most prominent and celebrated roles is Sora Harewataru, also known as Cure Sky, the lead protagonist in the 2023 series Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure. This role marked a significant milestone in her career. Another major role is that of Princess Charlotte in the original anime series Princess Principal and its subsequent film sequels. Sekine has also taken on the main role of Saki Aoi in the anime adaptation of Senpai Is an Otokonoko.

Her versatility is further showcased across many other series. She voices Elfaria Alvis Serfort in Wistoria: Wand and Sword, Tokime in Fuuto PI, and Anaak Jahad in Tower of God. She also plays Ritsuka Fujimaru in the original video animation Fate/Grand Carnival, Lily Lipman in Birdie Wing -Golf Girls' Story-, and Kurumi Mugen in Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka. Other notable roles include Ryoku in Kemurikusa, Shigure in Kemono Michi: Rise Up, Kei Tanigawa in Akebi's Sailor Uniform, Kuon Shinzaki in High-Rise Invasion, Kaori Hakase in Cap Kakumei Bottleman DX, Araya Endō in Assault Lily Bouquet, Miyabi Fujiwara in Aikatsu!, and Diana Diafell in the anime film Oji no Honmei wa Akuyaku Reijo.

While she does not have a single, exclusive creative partnership akin to some voice actors, Sekine has worked on multiple projects with certain directors and studios. For instance, her role as Princess in Princess Principal, directed by Masaki Tachibana, has spanned a television series and multiple sequel films. She has also voiced characters in several projects by studio Actas, including a main role in the tank anime The Magnificent Kotobuki and a role in the sequel film for that series.

Regarding her personal interests, Sekine has stated that her hobbies include learning about Sengoku period warlords, visiting castles and temples, and playing the oboe. Her father named her Akira, hoping that "if you are bright, good things will happen". She also keeps a pet budgerigar.
