Honoka began as a kind, caring, and self-sacrificing individual who consistently prioritized others' well-being above her own identity. She held a naïve and optimistic belief that her coin-based wish-granting system would yield only positive results, overlooking potential dangers. Driven by her close friendship with Aiko, Honoka made a pivotal wish after Aiko's suicide: she assumed Aiko's appearance using the alien's power to conceal the tragedy, hoping to spare her friends grief.
This choice triggered catastrophic consequences. Kaito, misinterpreting Honoka's impersonation as a malicious act of replacement, killed her in a rage. Overcome by guilt and despair upon learning the truth—that Aiko had died by suicide and Honoka had sacrificed herself to protect others—Kaito used the collected coins to resurrect her. The revival process fundamentally corrupted her existence, transforming her into a hollow, luminescent abomination devoid of her original humanity and empathy. This entity possessed an alien-like consciousness solely focused on erasing the world.
In this resurrected state, she manifested reality-warping powers, primarily the ability to banish individuals to a separate dimension she termed her "heart." Victims within this dimension underwent physical and mental disintegration, mutating into mindless monsters while being simultaneously erased from all memories, records, and existence in the real world. The dimension also nullified most supernatural abilities, except for Shuichi Kagaya due to his unique physiology. Her actions directly fueled Kaito's descent into villainy and instigated widespread chaos.
Her connection to Shuichi Kagaya and Elena Aoki originated from their shared childhood, though Elena later erased Shuichi's memories of that time. Honoka harbored an obsessive crush on Naoto, which motivated her pursuit of him while disguised as Aiko—an act she later regretted. Ultimately, her existence as an existential threat culminated in Shuichi forcibly absorbing and sealing her within his own body during the climax. This act halted her dimensional erosion but trapped her consciousness internally, where she persists in tempting Shuichi with world-ending power.
