Description
Elsha Lean, granddaughter of Edger Village chief Burk Lean, lives in this small, isolated settlement on Lingalind's outskirts. The village endures scarce resources, relying on hunting and basic agriculture while battling epidemics and threats from the warring nations of Rekka and Lutoh. Her parents perished due to these harsh conditions, forging her cautious leadership focused solely on protecting the villagers from further harm. She initially refuses refuge to the amnesiac outsider Back Arrow, fearing his presence or his ambition to breach the World Wall will bring catastrophe to Edger. This deep aversion to risk stems from her people's collective trauma; generations earlier they were displaced and granted precarious sanctuary within Iki's territory.

Elsha possesses distinctive orange hair and green eyes. She wears a red hat, a sleeveless red vest tied at her midsection, and asymmetrically modified green jeans with one leg deliberately cut off, reflecting her resourceful background. She typically carries a firearm and wears a necklace.

Her defining psychological trait is an unwavering commitment to communal survival, crystallized in her personal Conviction: "Survive No Matter What." This conviction shapes her Briheight, Shadoh—a cyan and gold feminine humanoid mecha equipped with forearm-mounted blasters and wing-like back panels firing energy projectiles. Shadoh's critical function is merging with the buried dreadnought Granedger beneath Edger Village. Manifested, Shadoh physically integrates into the ship's prow as its living figurehead, enabling Elsha to pilot the vessel. Granedger's emergence destroys Edger Village during activation, forcing the displaced villagers to convert the ship into their mobile home. Elsha assumes full responsibility for navigating Granedger across Lingalind. While a Residual Conviction System allows basic course maintenance without Shadoh, complex maneuvers or combat require her direct fusion.

After the village's destruction and exodus aboard Granedger, Burk Lean resigns as chief, transferring leadership to Elsha. She initially shoulders this role while piloting the ship. However, as the political landscape shifts and the crew declares Granedger an independent nation—Granedger United—Elsha voluntarily relinquishes her position as chief. She facilitates Atlee Ariel's ascension as queen, recognizing that piloting Granedger demands her undivided focus. This transition highlights her pragmatic understanding of her limitations and her prioritization of the community's operational security over personal authority.

Elsha remains steadfast in protecting her people throughout the narrative. Her defensive Conviction and Shadoh's role emphasize her identity as a guardian, aligning with her refusal to endanger the villagers for abstract ideals. Her initial skepticism toward Arrow's quest evolves into pragmatic cooperation as circumstances force collective resilience against shared threats.
