Yusuke Kobayashi is a Japanese voice actor from Tokyo, born on March 25, 1985. He is affiliated with the talent agency Yu-rin Pro. Before pursuing voice acting, Kobayashi graduated from university with a degree in science and engineering and worked as an air conditioner developer for a major electronics manufacturer. Dissatisfied with his career, he took singing lessons and was encouraged by his instructor to pursue voice acting. At the age of 24, he quit his job and enrolled in Amusement Media College, a vocational school for voice actors, graduating in 2010. His debut in anime came in 2013 with a role in A Certain Scientific Railgun S. In 2024, he announced his marriage to fellow voice actress Yumi Uchiyama.

Kobayashi has become known for his leading roles in several major anime series. He is particularly recognized for his portrayals of Subaru Natsuki in Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- and Senku Ishigami in Dr. Stone, roles he has reprised across multiple seasons, films, and related projects like Isekai Quartet. His other prominent main roles include Arslan in The Heroic Legend of Arslan, Shin Wolford in Wise Man's Grandchild, Arthur Boyle in Fire Force, Kaname Sudo in Darwin's Game, Iska in Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World, Kazuya Soma in How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom, and Fudo Aikawa in Love After World Domination. His filmography also includes significant roles such as Soo-Won in Yona of the Dawn, Zenji Marui in the Food Wars! series, Caules Forvedge Yggdmillennia in Fate/Apocrypha, Warren Grantz in The Saga of Tanya the Evil, and Gloxinia in The Seven Deadly Sins.

Beyond anime, Kobayashi has an extensive body of work in video games. He is the voice of the male protagonist Byleth in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Lasswell in Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius, and Sojuro Shizuki in Witch on the Holy Night. He is also involved in music and mixed-media projects, performing as part of the unit VAZZY for the VazzRock series and as Kanata Yatonokami for the Paradox Live project. His dubbing work includes the lead role of Davey Armstrong in the film Summer of 84 and Taylor Travis in the Netflix series Pacific Rim: The Black.

Kobayashi has shared that fellow voice actor Yoshitsugu Matsuoka has been a significant influence on his career. Early in his career, after losing a role to Matsuoka, he felt discouraged and stopped watching anime. However, after seeing Matsuoka's performance in Sword Art Online, he was inspired to recommit to his craft, an experience he credits for his subsequent growth and success. In 2017, he was honored with the Best New Actor Award at the 11th Seiyu Awards.
