Gloxinia is the first king of the Fairy King's Forest, a title given to him by the Sacred Tree, which also bestowed upon him the Spirit Spear Basquias. Despite his origins as a fairy, he later defected from his clan during the ancient Holy War to become a member of the Ten Commandments, an elite warrior force directly serving the Demon King. He was given the Commandment of Repose, a powerful curse that penalizes those who engage in endless or repetitive combat.

In terms of personality, Gloxinia initially appears arrogant and condescending, particularly toward his successor, the current Fairy King named King. He openly mocks King for his lack of power and control over his own abilities. However, this harsh exterior masks a deep emotional core. His drastic betrayal of the Goddess Clan and his fairy brethren was not born of innate evil but from a place of profound personal loss and perceived betrayal. He was driven to join the Demon Clan after believing that a human named Rou murdered his beloved sister, Gerheade. This event fostered a deep-seated hatred for humanity, whom he views as treacherous and insignificant. Despite his allegiance to demons, Gloxinia maintains a respectful and close partnership with the giant Drole, with whom he shares a long history.

Gloxinia's role in the story is multifaceted. He serves as a formidable antagonist and a member of the Ten Commandments when they are released from their three-thousand-year seal. Alongside his partner Drole, he organizes the Great Fight Festival as a means to gather strong souls for the demon army. However, his role evolves into that of a mentor. After abducting King and the giant Diane, Gloxinia and Drole put them through a rigorous trial, sending their souls back in time to the era of the Holy War. This test is designed to force the younger warriors to confront the same tragedy that corrupted Gloxinia and Drole, allowing them to grow stronger by making different choices. Through this process, Gloxinia's development becomes clear. Witnessing King's ability to overcome his own rage and hatred—specifically by sparing a traitor where Gloxinia had killed him—forces the former Fairy King to reevaluate his past actions. Ultimately, he reconciles with his sister, abandons the Ten Commandments, and returns to the Fairy Clan, choosing to protect the forest he once abandoned.

Gloxinia possesses a colossal power level of fifty thousand, almost entirely derived from his immense magical ability, as his physical strength is recorded as zero. As the first Fairy King, his primary weapon is the Spirit Spear Basquias, which has multiple forms. Common manifestations include green, octopus-like tentacles that wrap around his body, the powerful single-target attack called First Form Basquias, the deadly Ninth Form Death Thorn which can eliminate many foes at once, and the Fifth Form Yggdra Armor which provides protection. He also possesses the Seventh Form Moon Rose, a powerful healing ability that can restore wounds and remove debilitating effects from himself and his allies. As a fairy, he can fly at incredible speeds using his large wings, read the hearts of others, and control nature, including the creation of powerful flower dolls to fight in his stead. After joining the Demon Clan, he gained the ability to wield the power of darkness, which further enhances his combat capabilities.
