Description
Taylor Travis was born to Jaeger pilots Ford and Brina Travis in Australia, raised within the Pan Pacific Defense Corps. He achieved Jaeger cadet status, completed pilot certification, and trained extensively under the AI Loa in the Mark III training Jaeger Atlas Destroyer. During Operation Blackout, Taylor and his younger sister Hayley were rescued from Meridian City by their parents piloting Hunter Vertigo. Relocated to the abandoned Shadow Basin facility, Brina entrusted Taylor with her dog tags and tasked him with protecting Hayley until their return.
Five years later, Taylor maintained belief in their parents' eventual return while adapting to life in Shadow Basin, contrasting with Hayley's desire to leave. After Hayley reactivated Atlas Destroyer, its activation alarms attracted the Category IV Kaiju Copperhead, which destroyed Shadow Basin and killed all inhabitants. Forced to flee, Taylor and Hayley piloted Atlas toward Sydney. When Atlas lost power near Meridian City, Taylor searched the PPDC Recruitment Center for power cells. There, they discovered a mysterious silver-haired child called Boy in a containment unit. Despite initial reluctance, Taylor assisted in rescuing Boy.
Leaving Meridian, Taylor followed scavenger vehicles to the settlement Bogan, led by Shane. After Boy attracted a Kaiju during a scavenging operation, Bogan took the siblings in. Shane later interrogated Taylor using a neural bridge, extracting memories of Atlas and claiming ownership. When Copperhead attacked Bogan, Shane forced Taylor to drift with reluctant scavenger Mei to pilot Atlas. The pair struggled with incomplete synchronization, resulting in Copperhead severing Atlas' right arm and injuring Taylor. Following their exile from Bogan, Taylor attempted a risky solo drift using archived memories of Ranger Herc Hansen to rescue Hayley and Boy from recapture. This ghost drifting caused neural strain but succeeded in their escape.
Traveling through the Outback, Taylor witnessed Breaches opening across the landscape. After falling into one such Breach, Atlas emerged in a Kaiju-Jaeger boneyard where Hansen's residual memories surfaced. When Boy approached an active Breach, the biomech Jaeger Apex emerged and attacked Atlas before recognizing Boy. Apex grafted a salvaged Jaeger arm onto Atlas as replacement. Later, in Clayton City, Taylor discovered Hunter Vertigo's wreckage and accessed his parents' final message revealing their capture. Copperhead attacked during this discovery, leading to a confrontation where Brina—now freed from the Sisters of the Kaiju cult—sacrificed herself to save them.
Continuing to Sydney, Taylor and Hayley faced the Sisters' High Priestess controlling Copperhead. Loa initiated Atlas' self-destruct to destroy the Priestess, eliminating both the AI and Jaeger. The siblings reached Sydney with Boy and Mei, reuniting with their father Ford.
