Alexis Tomassian is a French actor born on July 13, 1979, who is primarily known for his extensive work in dubbing, including the French-language voices for numerous characters in animated series and films. His career in performance began on stage in 1991 when he played the role of Gavroche in the musical Les Misérables. He was a student at the École des Enfants du Spectacle from 1992 to 1995. Tomassian is highly active in the dubbing of animation and anime, providing voices for a wide range of protagonists. Among his most notable anime roles is Light Yagami in the series Death Note. He is also the French voice of Prince Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender. His other anime work includes Matt Ishida and Gomamon in Digimon Adventure, Kaworu Nagisa in the redub of Neon Genesis Evangelion, and more recent roles such as David Martinez in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Bond Forger in SPY x Family. He provided the voice for the character Mizuno Yūnoshin in the series Ōoku: The Inner Chambers. Beyond anime, his voice is widely recognized in Western animation. He is the regular French voice for Robin (both Tim Drake and Dick Grayson) in various Batman animated series and films. He has also voiced Philip J. Fry in Futurama, Tommy Pickles in Rugrats, Ben Tennyson in Ben 10: Alien Force and its sequels, Martin Mystery in Martin Mystery, Dewey Duck in Quack Pack and the DuckTales reboot, and Eddie in the Ice Age films. In addition to his work in animation, Tomassian is the regular French dubbing voice for several prominent live-action actors, including Justin Timberlake, Rami Malek, and Zach Braff, and is one of the French voices for Tobey Maguire, Shia LaBeouf, and Eminem. Tomassian has a notable and long-standing professional collaboration and friendship with fellow voice actor Donald Reignoux. The two share a similar vocal timbre and have voiced many of the same actors and characters, sometimes sharing roles. Together, under the pseudonym Mr Dose, they were members of Roue2ouf, one of the first French stunt motorcycle teams. His achievements extend to directing artistic works, serving as a voice director for various films and television series, including the 2024 Netflix live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. He has also performed theme songs for several animated shows, such as Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and My Dad the Rock Star. His son, Sacha Tomassian, and his niece, Bianca Tomassian, are also professional voice actors.
