Luiz Antônio Lobue

Description
Luiz Antônio Lobue is a Brazilian actor, voice actor, and dubbing director, recognized for his extensive work in dubbing foreign productions into Portuguese. He was born as Luiz Antônio Lopes Bueno on November 10, 1951, in São Paulo, Brazil.

Lobue began his career in an era when dubbing was less formalized, learning the craft by observing more experienced colleagues in the studio environment. This hands-on apprenticeship shaped his approach to voice work, which has since expanded to include directing.

He is the official Brazilian Portuguese voice for several iconic characters across anime, animation, and live-action series. Among his most renowned roles are Piccolo in the various Dragon Ball anime series, including the film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, and Aiolia of Leo in the classic anime Saint Seiya (known in Brazil as Os Cavaleiros do Zodíaco). He also voiced the character Amidamaru in the anime Shaman King. In the anime adaptation of The Rose of Versailles, he provided the voice for General François Augustin Regnier de Jarjayes, the father of the protagonist, Lady Oscar.

Beyond anime, Lobue is widely known for dubbing the titular character in the acclaimed medical drama Dr. House. His performance as Dr. Gregory House earned him the award for Best Protagonist Voice Actor - Public's Choice at the Oscar da Dublagem in 2008. His work also extends to video games, where he voiced the character Celebrimbor in the titles Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War.
