Description
Yasaburo, a Force-sensitive human male, called the planet Tao home during the Imperial Era. As head of a prominent resistance organization, he led a rebellion against the Galactic Empire’s brutal occupation of his world. His biological daughter, Ochō, persuaded him to adopt Lop, an escaped Lepi slave discovered on a beach, into their family despite his initial reservations—a choice that mirrored his unwavering honor and dedication to shielding the defenseless.

Seven years later, Yasaburo’s defiance splintered his family. Seduced by Imperial assurances of order, Ochō denounced his rebellion as terrorism and betrayed him, their clash escalating into a duel where she destroyed his remaining functional eye. This final injury left him fully blind, compounding an older, unspecified wound that had already claimed his left eye’s sight.

During a sacred family ritual, Yasaburo channeled the Force to gift Lop the clan’s ancestral lightsaber, formally recognizing her as his heir. “Inheritance has nothing to do with blood,” he declared, cementing his view of legacy as a bond deeper than biology—even as Ochō embraced the Empire.

His rebellion drew strength from a generations-old duty to safeguard Tao’s autonomy, framing the conflict as a battle to preserve cultural identity against Imperial subjugation. The rift with Ochō laid bare the intimate toll of his ideals, fracturing their bond in the shadow of galactic strife.

Yasaburo’s blindness became a testament to his resilience and evolving vision. Though stripped of sight, he clung to his convictions, transferring the family’s legacy—and Tao’s fight for freedom—to Lop. His journey ended with the rebellion’s outcome uncertain, his destiny entangled in the unresolved struggle between his chosen heir and the Empire’s enduring grip.
