Description
Marcel Jonker is a Dutch voice actor, dubbing director, translator, and scriptwriter, born in The Hague on July 4, 1976. He trained at the Toneel Academie Maastricht and the Akademie voor Kleinkunst in Amsterdam. Following his education, he began his career as a voice actor and scriptwriter for RVU radio and appeared in the musical Grace.
Jonker has built an extensive career lending his voice to numerous characters in Dutch-dubbed versions of international films and television series. His work spans a wide range of productions, with notable roles including the voices of Nigel in Rio and Rio 2, Kowalski in The Penguins of Madagascar, Louis in The Princess and the Frog, Fluke and Maanvis in Finding Dory, and various characters in the Hotel Transylvania film series, among many others. He is also known for his work as Sam the Eagle in Muppets productions and as Scar in The Lion Guard and the 2019 remake of The Lion King. In video games, he has voiced characters for the Disney Infinity series.
His contributions to the Dutch adaptations of animated projects extend beyond performance, as he has also worked as a dubbing director and translator. He directed the Dutch versions of series such as Transformers: Animated and Roary the Race Car, and translated numerous English scripts and song lyrics.
In the context of anime and anime-influenced animation, Jonker has voiced multiple characters across the Star Wars animated universe.
