Billy Kametz was an American voice actor known for his extensive work in English dubs of anime series and video game localizations, active in the industry from 2016 until his passing in 2022. Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and raised in Hershey, he initially pursued a career in stage performance, which included working on Disney Cruise Line and portraying Aladdin in the final run of Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular at Disney California Adventure in 2016. This move to Los Angeles marked the beginning of his transition into voice acting.

His breakthrough in anime came with the role of Josuke Higashikata in the Viz Media dub of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable. This performance helped establish him in the industry and led to a prolific career voicing leading and supporting characters across a wide range of series. Kametz was represented by the AVO Talent agency throughout his voice acting career.

Kametz's filmography is extensive and includes many notable roles. He voiced the protagonist Naofumi Iwatani in the first season of The Rising of the Shield Hero, a performance that earned him the Best VA Performance (EN) award at the 4th Crunchyroll Anime Awards in 2020. Other prominent anime roles included Galo Thymos in the film Promare, Shinei Nouzen in 86, Asmodeus Alice in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, the White Blood Cell in Cells at Work, and Nishikata in Teasing Master Takagi-san. He also voiced characters in long-running and critically acclaimed series such as Niccolo in Attack on Titan The Final Season, Rui in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Anai in Aggretsuko, Durham in BEASTARS, and Kunimi in The Way of the Househusband. His versatility extended to roles in Vinland Saga, Sirius the Jaeger, To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts, Talentless Nana, Tokyo 24th Ward, and many others, consistently contributing to the English-language versions of popular anime.

In addition to anime, Kametz was a highly recognizable voice in video games. He was celebrated for his portrayal of Ferdinand von Aegir in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and its subsequent appearances, as well as Takuto Maruki in Persona 5 Royal. His other significant video game credits included Colt in Brawl Stars, Blue in Pokémon Masters, Nenji Ogata in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, and Naoto Kurogane in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. He also lent his voice to Western animation, with roles such as Macaque in Lego Monkie Kid and Nevareth in The Owl House.

Throughout his career, Kametz was known for his warm professionalism and the emotional depth he brought to his characters. In February 2022, he was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer. He publicly shared his diagnosis in April of that year and passed away on June 9, 2022, at the age of 35. His passing prompted an outpouring of tributes from colleagues and fans, highlighting his talent and the positive impact he had on the voice acting community. Several roles in projects like Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, RWBY, and Hailey's On It! were released posthumously in his memory.
