Despite inadequate training hours, Galo passed his aptitude tests and joined Burning Rescue after Kray's intervention. Physically, he has a tan complexion, a blue mohawk shaved on the sides, and teal eyes with red segments. He typically wears a red Burning Rescue uniform without a shirt, showcasing his well-built frame, and a white compression sleeve on his left arm covering burn scars. His uniform includes red pants with a yellow "#3," black gloves and boots with yellow accents, and black hip straps. Galo exhibits an impulsive, reckless demeanor, often acting without planning and disregarding orders. He speaks his mind openly and relies on instinct during crises. Despite perceptions of lacking intellect, he demonstrates emotional intelligence and adaptability, using unconventional strategies influenced by his fascination with Edo-period firefighting techniques like hikeshi and matoi. This extends to incorporating matoi designs into his mechs and delivering impromptu presentations on the subject. His compassion is central; he refuses to target groups without understanding their motives and prioritizes protecting innocents. However, his loyalty and naivety make him susceptible to manipulation. A key early mission involved rescuing Thyma from a fire. He doused himself in extinguishing gel, entered a burning facility, and carried her to safety. Thyma later manifested Burnish abilities, burning Galo’s arm before being abducted by Mad Burnish members, cementing his resolve to confront the group. During a confrontation with Mad Burnish leader Lio Fotia, Galo utilized his Matoi Tech mech—a samurai-like exoskeleton designed by Lucia Fex—featuring a staff (Gaen Gear) convertible into ice guns or water chainsaws, magnetic lockdown capabilities, and rapid cooling systems to combat pyrokinetic threats. After receiving a medal from Kray, Galo witnessed Freeze Force arresting Burnish civilians. His investigation led him to a Burnish hideout where Lio revealed Kray’s human experiments on Burnish. Galo confronted Kray, learning of a plan to abandon Earth via the Parnassus spacecraft using Burnish as fuel. This betrayal resulted in Galo’s imprisonment. He escaped during Lio’s citywide rampage and allied with Burning Rescue to subdue Lio, cooling him with Aina’s assistance. Their confrontation melted a frozen lake, revealing a hidden lab where Deus Prometh’s AI explained the Promare—interdimensional flame beings linked to Burnish abilities and Earth’s impending destruction. Teaming with Lio, Galo piloted the Deus X Machina mech, later redesigned as the Burnish-powered Lio de Galon. They battled Kray, who exposed his own Burnish nature and admitted to causing Galo’s childhood fire to further his political career. After Kray seemingly killed Galo, Lio’s flames revived him. Galo then rescued Lio from the Parnassus core using Burnish CPR—a flame-transfer technique—and together they fused the mech with Earth’s core. This allowed the Promare to burn harmlessly, closing the dimensional rift and curing Burnish abilities. Post-crisis, Galo committed to global rebuilding efforts alongside Lio. His abilities include emergency medical training, proficiency in hand-to-hand combat, and the use of freeze guns standard for Burning Rescue.
