Description
Shinei Nouzen, codenamed Undertaker and Reaper, is a Giadian noble-born protagonist raised in the Republic of San Magnolia’s internment camps following his family’s displacement amid racial persecution. Orphaned after his parents perished in military service under deceitful pledges of citizenship, he and his older brother Shourei were entrusted to an Adularia priest. A childhood confrontation with Shourei, who nearly killed him in a grief-stricken rage, left a scar encircling Shin’s neck and unlocked his paranormal sensitivity to the voices of the dead—including the Legion’s dormant AI.

His striking bloodred Pyrope irises, jet-black Onyx hair, and gaunt physique are juxtaposed with the sky-blue scarf masking his scar, a memento from his first captain. Later attire shifts from desert camouflage to a steel-toned Federacy panzer jacket, his skeletal insignia amplifying an aura of chilling stoicism.

Enlisting as a Processor at twelve upon hearing Shourei’s voice among the Legion, Shin leads the Spearhead Squadron, gathering fallen allies’ improvised dog tags as tokens of a promise to bury them post-war. His telepathy detects Legion movements but inadvertently overwhelms Para-RAID handlers, cementing his dread-inducing moniker: the Reaper of the Eastern Front.

Shin’s existence initially orbits self-sacrifice and survivor’s guilt, viewing himself as a spectral entity detached from life’s worth. Handler Vladilena Milizé’s unwavering empathy disrupts this nihilism, sparking a bond that evolves into romantic devotion. Their reunion catalyzes his gradual acceptance of hope, though reconciling this with his fractured self-perception remains a battle.

Rapid Federacy promotions stem from his tactical brilliance and combat mastery, yet his aloofness and heritage breed resentment among peers. His ability to intercept Legion communications extends ambiguously to select Leviathans, its mechanisms unexplained. Relinquishing Spearhead’s command, he fights anew not for penance but to shield others, forging camaraderie with soldiers like Raiden Shuga.

Pivotal shifts include confronting Shourei’s legacy, shedding guilt’s weight, and transitioning from a death-haunted loner to a leader prioritizing collective survival. Symbolizing this evolution is his embrace of vulnerability and a tentative pursuit of a future intertwined with Lena’s—a testament to resilience forged in war’s crucible.
