Nobuhiko Okamoto

Description
Nobuhiko Okamoto is a Japanese voice actor and singer born on October 24, 1986, in Tokyo, Japan. He is affiliated with the talent agency Raccoon Dog. His journey into voice acting was inspired by a childhood fondness for anime such as Slam Dunk and Dragon Quest, as well as his mother's volunteer work in reading aloud. To pursue this career, he enrolled in the Pro-Fit Voice Actor's Training School as a third-term student while simultaneously attending university, often working part-time jobs to fund his education. He made his debut as a voice actor in a BLCD in 2006 and his television anime debut in the same year.

Okamoto's professional career gained momentum quickly. In 2009, the same year he graduated from university, he received the Best New Actor Award at the 3rd Seiyu Awards for his roles as Accelerator in A Certain Magical Index, Shin Kanzato in Persona: Trinity Soul, and Ryuji Kuhoin in Kure-nai. He continued to build his reputation with a wide range of characters, earning the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 5th Seiyu Awards in 2011 for his performances as Takumi Usui in Maid Sama!, Eiji Niizuma in Bakuman., and once again as Accelerator. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a broad vocal range, taking on roles that span from earnest young men and romantic leads to cold, calculating antagonists and even characters with inhuman traits. Many of his roles, such as Accelerator and Katsuki Bakugo in My Hero Academia, require intense, high-energy vocal performances that have become a hallmark of his style.

Over more than fifteen years, Okamoto has amassed an extensive list of credits across numerous popular anime series. He is well-known for roles including Rin Okumura in Blue Exorcist, Yū Nishinoya in Haikyu!!, Karma Akabane in Assassination Classroom, and Genya Shinazugawa in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. His filmography also includes characters such as Obi in Snow White with the Red Hair, Garfiel Tinsel in Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, Bete Loga in Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Khun Aguero Agnes in Tower of God, and Mikoto "Mikorin" Mikoshiba in Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun. He has also lent his voice to major roles in series like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure as Ghiaccio and Black Clover as Liebe. In 2024, he returned to one of his signature roles in the new anime adaptation, Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga.

In addition to his voice work, Nobuhiko Okamoto is also a singer. He joined the Kiramune music label in 2011 and made his debut as a solo artist on his 25th birthday in 2012. His first mini-album, Palette, was released in May 2012 and reached number nine on the weekly Oricon charts. He has since released additional music, including a second mini-album, Enjoy Full, in 2013 and his first single, Shunkan Beat, in 2014. Okamoto has also hosted a long-running radio program about video games called RADIO 4Gamer.

Following the closure of his long-time agency Pro-Fit, Okamoto transferred to the newly established agency Raccoon Dog on April 1, 2022, where he also serves as a company director.
