Andromeda Shun is a Bronze Saint dedicated to protecting the goddess Athena. Born in Japan as the younger brother of Phoenix Ikki, both are sons of Mitsumasa Kido. Shun embodies gentleness and pacifism, consistently seeking peaceful solutions and fighting only when absolutely necessary. He trained on Andromeda Island under Cepheus Daidalos (Albiore in the anime), earning his Andromeda Cloth not through physical dominance but by harnessing emotional resilience and his deep bond with Ikki. Shun wields the Andromeda Chains with tactical precision, employing techniques such as Nebula Chain, Rolling Defense, Thunder Wave, and the devastating Nebula Storm, which he reserves for dire situations. Despite his aversion to conflict, he awakens the Seventh Sense and proves to be one of the strongest Bronze Saints. Self-sacrifice defines his actions, from reviving Hyoga by channeling his cosmos against lethal cold to enduring possession for the sake of his allies. A critical arc reveals Shun as the chosen human vessel for Hades, marked by a necklace from Pandora. During the Hades arc, his body is temporarily possessed, yet his unwavering spirit resists full control; he deliberately allows the possession to aid Athena, creating an opening for Ikki to strike. He later joins the battle in Elysion against Hypnos and Thanatos. In sequels, Shun travels to the 18th century with Athena and is designated the future Virgo Gold Saint, and in another continuation he becomes a wandering doctor after suffering a wound that prevents him from using his cosmos.
