Description
Gekkō Nanase, a young man of average height, possesses dark purple hair reaching his neck, marked by a prominent long strand on the right side, and piercing red eyes. Outwardly calm and reserved, his demeanor masks a turbulent psyche defined by obsessive jealousy and hatred toward his older brother, Takeshi. This animosity roots in childhood rivalry: Gekkō’s superior kendo skill overshadowed Takeshi until a traumatic accident—orchestrated secretly by their mother, Youko—ended his career. Blaming Takeshi for pushing him into a car’s path, which caused permanent leg damage, Gekkō clung to this false narrative for years, unaware of Youko’s manipulation to deter him from emulating the antagonist Kazuma Ryuusenji.

His fixation extends to Kurumi Isoshima, Takeshi’s childhood friend and fake girlfriend. Convinced Takeshi exploited her vulnerability after a stalker incident, Gekkō’s jealousy spirals into destructive obsession. He allies with the antagonistic Ghost Trailer, mentored by Kippei Washizu, honing acceleration magic dubbed Angel Hunt for teleportation and high-speed combat. Proficient in swordsmanship, he wields the Angel Blade and a modified magical sword, Twilight, later subduing its human form, Eterna, through enchanted chains.

Gekkō’s vendetta escalates into violent confrontations: he mortally wounds Kazuma during a clash at Ghost Trailer’s hideout, aiming to rewrite their mother’s past choices. Exploiting time-travel events, he seizes control of Kazuma’s body, igniting the First Great Magic War and twisting history. Merging Twilight’s power with Kazuma’s soul grants him black magic, amplifying his rampage.

Discovering Youko’s culpability shifts his fury toward her, culminating in a brutal assault. Though he feigns reconciliation with Takeshi, malice lingers—evident in Kurumi’s abduction and attempts on Takeshi’s life. Their final battle strips pretense, as Gekkō deploys psychological torment and physical savagery, compelling Takeshi to abandon mercy.

Interwoven with familial betrayal and warped devotion, Gekkō’s descent reflects the corrosive fallout of unhealed trauma. Rejecting redemption, he weaponizes pain into vengeance, etching himself as a pivotal architect of conflict, his legacy a testament to love and loyalty corroded into ruin.
