Description
Khun Aguero Agnes, often referred to simply as Khun, is a major character who serves as the best friend of the protagonist, Twenty-Fifth Baam. He is a C-Rank Regular and a member of the Khun Family, one of the Ten Great Families that rule the Tower. His name is a reference to the footballer Sergio Agüero, and Agnes is his mother's surname. His birthday is November 29th.

Khun is one of the many defected sons of Khun Eduan, the head of the Khun Family. His entire family branch was expelled from the Khun household because his older sister failed in her bid to become a Princess of Zahard. Prior to entering the Tower, he raided his father's treasure room, an unprecedented act, and stole several valuable items. As a child, he was raised harshly and was forced to participate in an annual, inhumane fight among ten-year-olds from the Khun Family branches, which he won, earning the right to use the family's symbol.

Khun is a highly cunning and levelheaded individual, known for his ability to manipulate the rules of tests to suit his needs. He is a natural genius and an expert strategist, often able to outthink opponents, including Rankers, and devise complex plans that exploit enemy weaknesses. He prefers to command from behind the scenes and is often annoyed by the childishness of his teammates, though he comes to genuinely appreciate them. Despite his calculating exterior, Khun has a deep inner desire to return to childhood, as he started acting like an adult from a very young age, making him an ironic character.

The author has stated that he feels attached to Khun as he finds him very human. While it was initially implied that Khun entered the Tower to gain authority and political power, this was later confirmed when he expressed his desire to take his father's position as the head of the Khun Family. This ambition is driven by insecurity stemming from his exile. However, his motivations evolve significantly after meeting Baam, and he finds something in Baam that he thought he had lost.

Khun is assigned the Light Bearer position, a role that utilizes Lighthouses for gathering information, performing complex calculations, and supporting the team. He shows clear talent in this field, but he has hinted that he is also capable of other positions, such as Spear Bearer, but chooses to be a Light Bearer because he enjoys commanding others. He is not weak in close combat and has exceptional physical attributes due to being a member of the Ten Great Families. He was one of the few Regulars who could easily pass through Lero-Ro's shinsu wall on the Second Floor. His shinsu quality and shape take the form of an extremely rare ice spear, an affinity he inherited from his father, though he initially refused to learn how to use it.

His primary weapon in Part I is the Manbarondenna, a magical bag that can store and duplicate items. He is adept at using Lighthouses, having shown the ability to use at least four at once, and can perform techniques like the Enna Core, which divides a Lighthouse into nine parts to imprison an opponent, though this requires Beta's assistance. He can also use his Lighthouses to teleport people and objects, create powerful barriers, and boost his own weapons.

Khun's most significant relationship is with Baam. He initially tried to befriend Baam because he thought he might be useful, but he soon bonded with him greatly. After Baam's apparent death, Khun is fixated on solving the mystery and carries on his friend's wishes. He eventually views Baam as his reason for living, stating that Baam is more important to him than his own life and that there would be no reason to continue living if he were not prepared to risk his life for him. He is also close with Rak Wraithraiser, whom he is often annoyed by but has come to appreciate, and the two share a fierce rivalry.

He has a complex and antagonistic relationship with Rachel. He initially helped her climb the Tower to honor Baam's memory but eventually deduced that she was responsible for Baam's death and swore vengeance. He spends a significant amount of time plotting against her and tormenting her, but his desire to kill her is tempered by his consideration for Baam's feelings. He also holds deep resentment towards his father, Khun Eduan, and plans to usurp him as the Family Head. Other key relationships include a mutual respect with fellow strategist Ship Leesoo, a rivalry with Hatsu, and a connection with his cousin, Khun Ran.

Khun undergoes significant transformation throughout the story. After being expelled from his family, he begins as a cynical individual who trusts no one but himself, a trait that a Ranker once pointed out as his greatest weakness. His friendship with Baam teaches him the value of trusting and depending on others. He later goes through a lot of transformation in his combat power, eventually deciding to embrace and use his inherited ice spear abilities after Baam urges him to do so, unlocking a powerful new weapon in his arsenal.
