Description
Jun'ichi Kamiya joins his high school literature club despite minimal interest in literature. Entering the club room, he encounters Kana Asou and develops strong feelings, yet hesitates to confess for over a year. His aversion to glasses, stemming from a disliked teacher, clashes sharply with Kana's consistent use of glasses and her preference for them over contacts. Despite this deep-seated dislike, his attraction to Kana without glasses drives him to persistently and tenaciously urge her to remove them.
After more than a year interacting with Kana, Jun'ichi discovers his own deteriorating eyesight requires glasses. Wearing them for the first time and seeing Kana clearly triggers a dramatic shift: he now perceives her as beautiful even with her glasses on. This moment resolves his internal conflict regarding glasses, marking a pivotal change in his attitude towards both Kana and his own need for corrective lenses.
His development centers on overcoming a prejudice linked to a past negative experience, facilitated by his growing relationship with Kana and the acknowledgment of his impairment. The resolution comes when wearing his glasses grants him not only clearer vision but also emotional acceptance of Kana's identity as a glasses wearer.
