Description
Dale is an 18-year-old adventurer renowned for exceptional skill despite his youth. Initially marked by profound depression and "soulless eyes," he displays a resigned detachment and a formidable, merciless approach to adversaries. His life transforms irrevocably during a mission when he discovers and rescues a severely weakened young devil girl, Latina, alone in the forest. Unable to abandon her, he adopts her, becoming her father.

Post-adoption, Dale's demeanor softens dramatically. He evolves into an intensely doting and overprotective parent, often exhibiting obsessive concern for Latina's well-being. His combat ruthlessness shifts towards a preference for non-lethal incapacitation, reserving lethal force for necessity. Despite his age, he embraces fatherhood wholeheartedly, frequently seeking parental guidance from Kenneth and Rita, owners of the "Dancing Tabby Cat" tavern who also care for Latina. He protects her by concealing her demonic horns with ribbons to aid her integration.

As Latina matures from roughly five to ten years old, Dale gradually learns to trust her independence more, though his protectiveness remains strong. A pivotal change grants him a devil's lifespan, ensuring he can live as long as Latina due to his role as her official protector, cementing his commitment to her long-term welfare. Dale reflects on his own lost childhood innocence, having felt pressured to mature quickly by societal expectations and his magical aptitude. He consciously strives to preserve Latina's childhood, fostering a carefree environment to shield her from similar pressures, though he sometimes underestimates her intelligence and maturity.

The relationship between Dale and Latina evolves significantly over time. Beginning as father and daughter, it transitions into a romantic partnership. Latina eventually expresses romantic feelings, leading to their marriage and the birth of their children, culminating the deep bond that started with his rescue and nurturing.
