Fairouz Ai
Description
Fairouz Ai is a Japanese voice actress born on July 6, 1993, in Tokyo. She is affiliated with the talent agency Mausu Promotion. Fairouz is the daughter of a Japanese mother and an Egyptian father, and she spent part of her elementary school years in Cairo, which made her conversationally fluent in Arabic. Her first name is a tribute to the Lebanese singer Fairuz.
Her path to a voice acting career was shaped by an early passion for the manga and anime series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, which she discovered in junior high school. She participated in online reading sessions of the series with other fans, an experience that solidified her desire to become a voice actress. Although her parents initially had reservations about her career choice, she pursued her goal independently. After graduating from a graphic design vocational school and working for a year as a dental assistant to save money, she enrolled in the Pro-Fit voice acting training school.
After completing her training, Fairouz joined the agency Pro-Fit. Her debut in a major leading role came in 2019 as the protagonist Hibiki Sakura in the anime television series How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?. Her performance in this role helped establish her presence in the industry. In 2020, her burgeoning talent was recognized when she was one of the recipients of the Best New Actress Award at the 14th Seiyu Awards.
A significant milestone in her career was being cast as Jolyne Cujoh, the protagonist of the sixth story arc of her beloved JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Stone Ocean, which was announced in 2021. This role held deep personal significance for her. Following the closure of Pro-Fit in March 2022, she became affiliated with the agency Raccoon Dog. In April 2025, she transitioned to Mausu Promotion. Late in 2024, it was announced that she had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and would be temporarily restricting some activities to focus on recovery, before fully resuming her work and joining her new agency in 2025.
Fairouz Ai has built an extensive and varied filmography across anime, video games, and dubbing. Her roles demonstrate a wide vocal range, often bringing to life energetic, strong-willed, and distinctive characters.
In anime television series, her notable roles include Power in Chainsaw Man, Raelza in Handyman Saitō in Another World, Anarchy in Magical Destroyers, Sumire in In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki, Angelica Rapha Redgrave in Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs, Pride in The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior, Grim in I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince, Kikoru Shinomiya in Kaiju No. 8, Hana Ayukawa in Negative Positive Angler, Kana Sakuragi in Magilumiere Co.
