Megan Shipman is an American voice actress known for her extensive work in English dubs of Japanese anime series. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, she developed an interest in voice acting while studying at Louisiana State University. She earned a bachelor's degree in music education and initially returned to Dallas to work as a middle school choir teacher before leaving that position to pursue a full-time career in voice acting.
Shipman entered the voice acting industry in 2014. Her early roles included Hibari in Senran Kagura and Rikou Takitsubo in A Certain Scientific Railgun S. In the following years, she quickly established a presence in the industry, building a filmography that encompasses a wide variety of characters across numerous popular series.
She is recognized for her ability to portray a broad spectrum of characters, often bringing energy and distinct personalities to her roles. Among her most prominent and widely recognized performances is Anya Forger in the immensely popular series Spy x Family. Another significant role is Kaede Honjō, also known as Maple, the protagonist of BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense. She also voices the cheerful and energetic Komichi Akebi in Akebi's Sailor Uniform and the socially awkward Sakura Adachi in Adachi and Shimamura.
Shipman has also taken on leading roles in other notable series. She played Yuzu Aihara in the drama Citrus and Aoba Suzukaze in the workplace comedy New Game!. Her versatility extends to fantasy and action genres, where she voices the dark elf Mare Bello Fiore in the Overlord series and its spin-off Isekai Quartet, as well as Grey in Black Clover. She has also voiced La Brava in My Hero Academia, Homura in Dr. Stone, and Sasha Braus in the final season of Attack on Titan, a role for which she took over from the original voice actor. In film, her credits include Gigi Andalucia in Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway and the lead role of Shion in the original anime film Sing a Bit of Harmony.
In addition to her on-screen work, Shipman has contributed her voice to several video games. Her game roles include Reginn in Fire Emblem Heroes, La Brava in My Hero One's Justice 2, and Dorothy in Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
Beyond performance, Shipman has also taken on behind-the-scenes responsibilities as an Assistant ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) Director. She served in this capacity for the series Heroines Run the Show and has directed English dubs for other projects.
