Description
Nephrites is the princess of the elven kingdom of Romka. Her parents once held the Ring of Wind and used its power to create a protective wall of wind that shielded the elf city from harm. However, Nephrites herself is a shut-in who rarely leaves her room. Her brother, Prince Jade, conditioned her from a young age to be fearful of the outside world, which left her extremely shy and socially anxious. She struggles with interacting with others and prefers the safety of her own space.
Despite her timid nature, Nephrites is a powerful mage and holds the Ring of Wind. As the second Ring Princess, she becomes a crucial ally in the fight against the Abyss King. When the protagonist Satou arrives in her kingdom, he helps her overcome her fears and come out of her shell. Through this support, Nephrites agrees to marry him, becoming his second wife and granting him the Ring of Wind, which bestows agility and wind-based abilities.
Her key relationships include her brother Prince Jade, who is protective of her but also contributed to her isolation, and Satou, who encourages her to face the world. She also interacts with the other Ring Princesses, gradually forming bonds with them as part of Satou’s growing family. Over the course of the story, Nephrites undergoes significant development, transitioning from a reclusive, anxious individual to an active participant in the journey against evil. She learns to trust others and gain confidence in her own strength.
Nephrites’ notable abilities revolve around wind magic. With her ring, she can manipulate air currents, create gusts, and enhance mobility. She is also a capable spellcaster in her own right, using magic defensively and offensively as the situation demands. Her role in the group is both as a source of elemental power and as a quiet but determined presence who proves that courage can grow even from the deepest insecurities.
