Description
Sakura Hagiwara, the lead vocalist of the popular idol group Sweet, finds herself thrust into the world of professional wrestling after a chance encounter with Rio Kazama, a wrestler from the organization Beautiful Fighting Athlete (BFA). When Sakura’s friend and fellow idol, Elena, is insulted by Rio during a television appearance, Sakura challenges Rio to a match to defend Elena’s honor. Despite her lack of experience, Sakura steps into the ring, only to be humiliatingly defeated. Determined to prove herself and grow stronger, she decides to temporarily leave her idol career behind to train as a professional wrestler.
Under the guidance of BFA’s veteran wrestler, Miyu, Sakura begins her grueling training regimen. The series portrays her struggles as she endures intense physical and mental challenges, learning the fundamentals of wrestling and gradually improving her skills. Along the way, Sakura faces various opponents, each with their own unique wrestling styles and personalities, including the fierce and competitive Rio, who becomes both her rival and a source of inspiration. The matches are depicted with a focus on the physicality and strategy of wrestling, showcasing the sport’s demanding nature.
As Sakura progresses, she forms bonds with her fellow wrestlers, gaining respect and camaraderie within the BFA. Her journey is marked by setbacks and victories, highlighting her growth as both an athlete and an individual. The series explores themes of perseverance, self-discovery, and the pursuit of personal strength, as Sakura balances her dual identities as an idol and a wrestler. The narrative culminates in her efforts to prove her worth in the ring, not only to her opponents but also to herself, as she strives to become the strongest in the world.
