TV-Series
Description
Chinatsu Suzumoto, a professional wrestler affiliated with the Berserk gym for approximately two years by the main events, possesses a slim, athletic build, distinctive purple hair, gray eyes, and stands 5'7" tall weighing 115 lbs. Her ring attire evolves during the series; she initially wears a two-piece orange outfit exposing her midsection with black knee-high boots, later adding black elbow pads, orange wrist pads, and black knee pads after episode 7. This contrasts her manga depiction in a full-body blue outfit lacking arm or leg coverage. Outside the ring, she typically dons Berserk's traditional gym coat and pants.

Her personality blends kindness with competitive seriousness. She consistently supports Sakura Hagiwara, helping her up after their first match and serving as her corner woman during Sakura's rematch against Rio Kazama. She encourages Sakura to continue wrestling and assists in developing special moves. Despite this supportive nature, she exhibits nervousness before large audiences, as noted in the manga. Her dedication surfaces when she immediately trains upon learning of the All-Rookie Star Match and accepts a challenge from Blue Panther despite audience disapproval.

Positioned as a capable but not top-tier competitor, she debuts against Sakura in episode 2, winning via Boston crab submission yet displaying sportsmanship by helping Sakura afterward. She later aids Sakura's park training and calms her before Rio's post-match interrogation. During the All-Rookie Star Match (episode 7), she faces Blue Panther instead of the scheduled Miyabi fighter. While initial agility lets her escape some holds, she proves helpless against complex submissions like the knee bar, leading to defeat and hospitalization. Upon recovery, she tests newcomer Moe Fukuoka's endurance with throws and assists Sakura's training for the Blue Panther rematch. Throughout Sakura's matches, including the finale against Elena Miyazawa, Chinatsu provides vocal ringside support.

In the OVAs, she appears during mud training with Sakura and wrestles Elena Miyazawa. During this match, she defeats Elena by forcing her face against her buttocks, causing Elena to lose consciousness, demonstrating her willingness to employ psychological tactics alongside physical skill.

Her in-ring abilities emphasize technical grappling and power moves despite her frame, utilizing submissions like the Boston crab and high-impact maneuvers such as power bombs against opponents like Sakura and Moe. Agility allows evasion of partial holds, but complex submissions targeting multiple joints—especially leg locks or chokeholds—exploit her limitations. This vulnerability culminates in her submission loss to Blue Panther due to overwhelming pain.

Her name carries symbolic meaning: "Chinatsu" combines the characters for "thousand" (千) and "summer" (夏), while "Suzumoto" derives from "bell" (鈴) and "origin" (元).
