Eri Kitamura is a Japanese voice actress and singer born on August 16, 1987, in Tokyo. Her interest in animation and voice acting was fostered from a young age by her mother. She began her entertainment career as a child actress under the stage name Eri Okamura. Kitamura's path to voice acting was solidified when she won the VS Audition 2003, a publicly held competition sponsored by Pony Canyon. This victory led to her professional debut and her first major role as Tatiana Wisla in the series Last Exile in 2003.

Kitamura's career advanced significantly with her casting as the protagonist Saya Otonashi in the 2005 television anime Blood+, establishing her as a promising new talent in the industry. In the years following, she built an extensive portfolio, taking on a wide variety of roles that showcased her vocal range. Some of her notable performances from this period include Ami Kawashima in Toradora!, Rin Kokonoe in Kodomo no Jikan, and Karen Araragi in the Monogatari series. She also voiced Miki Aono, also known as Cure Berry, in the 2009 magical girl series Fresh Pretty Cure!.

Kitamura is widely recognized for her performance as Sayaka Miki in the critically acclaimed Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Her versatility is further demonstrated by roles such as the energetic Mina Ashido in My Hero Academia, the mysterious Mitty in Made in Abyss, and the composed Shizuku Hazuki in New Game!. In addition to these, she has taken on leading roles in comedies like Mayo Chiki! as Kanade Suzutsuki and Haiyore! Nyaruko-san as Mahiro Yasaka.
