Description
Akane Senri is a senior at Kazamatsuri Academy and serves as the president of the Occult Research Society, earning the nickname School Witch due to her mysterious reputation, political connections, and wealth. Despite leading the occult club, she is deeply skeptical of the supernatural and often mocks paranormal claims. Introverted and crowd-averse, she prefers solitude and spends much of her time playing video games alone. She has amber eyes and flaxen hair usually tied with a ribbon.

Born an orphan, Akane lived at the Enishi House orphanage and was nonverbal until around age ten. During her childhood, she wandered into a forest where a battle was taking place between the organizations Gaia and Guardian. Kotarou Tennouji rescued her from falling out of a tree, after which she was taken into Gaia under the care of Sakura Kashima. She was designated a Holy Woman candidate, destined to inherit the memories and powers of past Holy Women through a process called transcription. This inheritance includes traumatic experiences, contributing to her emotional fragility.

Within Gaia, Akane rises to a leadership position. She presides over disciples who sing the Song of Destruction to trigger global natural disasters, aiming to eradicate humanity as a form of salvation. She can summon familiars for combat and reconnaissance, though her direct control is limited. Her relationship with Kotarou deepens over time, and she recruits him as her bodyguard. She experiences periods of emotional breakdown, particularly after Sakura’s death. In the crossover series Kaginado, she appears in a stylized, comedic format that reflects her original traits. Her background includes a distant father in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and she later adopts the surname Kashima. An alternate scenario involves an ending where she becomes queen of an altered world while retaining awareness of its manipulation.
