Description
Rie Maezono, nicknamed "Riecchi," is the youngest member of her friend group at 15, one year junior to Haruno Shiozaki, Sayo Kaburagi, and Anri Bessho. Legally unable to obtain a motorcycle license in Japan, she relies on a bicycle for her daily commute. The challenging uphill routes often leave her arriving at school visibly exhausted and sweaty, unlike her scooter-riding friends. This situation invites lighthearted, good-natured teasing from them. Rie eagerly counts down to her sixteenth birthday, viewing it as the milestone when she can finally legally ride a scooter, specifically her chosen Honda Zoomer.
While waiting, she playfully expresses her scooter enthusiasm, sometimes grabbing Anri Bessho's pigtails as makeshift handlebars to simulate riding. Her admiration extends to Cynthia B. Rogers, an Australian motorcyclist working at the Niwa Café, who serves as a role model and further fuels Rie's anticipation for riding her own vehicle. Her interactions center primarily on this established friend group and their shared routines at the Niwa Café.
