Description
"Magic Kaito 1412" centers on Kaito Kuroba, a high school student with a talent for magic and mischief. After discovering that his late father, Toichi Kuroba, was the original Phantom Thief Kaito, a legendary thief who stole priceless gems, Kaito takes up the mantle to uncover the truth behind his father’s mysterious death. Toichi was reportedly killed during a magic trick gone wrong, but Kaito suspects foul play and believes his father’s death is connected to a shadowy organization seeking a mythical gem known as the Pandora, said to grant immortality under a full moon.

As the new Phantom Thief Kaito, Kaito uses his skills in illusion and sleight of hand to steal jewels under the guise of elaborate heists, often targeting high-profile locations and evading both law enforcement and rival criminals. His primary goal is to locate the Pandora gem before the organization does, while also honoring his father’s legacy. Kaito’s heists are marked by theatricality, with him frequently taunting the police and leaving behind his signature calling card. His dual identity forces him to balance his life as a carefree student with his secretive activities as a thief.

The series introduces a range of characters who play significant roles in Kaito’s journey. Aoko Nakamori, Kaito’s childhood friend and classmate, is the daughter of Inspector Ginzo Nakamori, who is determined to capture the Phantom Thief. Aoko remains unaware of Kaito’s double life, often expressing frustration with his antics while maintaining a close bond with him. Inspector Nakamori serves as a persistent adversary, leading the police force’s efforts to apprehend Kaito, though his methods are frequently outmatched by Kaito’s cunning.

Another key figure is Saguru Hakuba, a brilliant detective and rival to Kaito, who suspects Kaito’s connection to the Phantom Thief. Hakuba’s analytical mind and deductive skills make him a formidable opponent, though Kaito often manages to stay one step ahead. The series also features Akako Koizumi, a classmate with supernatural abilities tied to witchcraft, who becomes both an ally and a rival to Kaito. Her powers and enigmatic motives add an element of mysticism to the story.

The narrative is episodic, with each heist serving as a self-contained adventure while contributing to the overarching mystery of the Pandora gem and the organization pursuing it. Kaito’s encounters with the police, rival thieves, and supernatural forces create a dynamic blend of action, comedy, and intrigue. The series explores themes of legacy, identity, and the pursuit of truth, as Kaito navigates the challenges of his dual life and the secrets surrounding his father’s death.

1The Phantom Thief Kid Appears
Kaito Kuroba,a high school student skilled in magic, finds a secret passage in his home leading to a hidden basement. Inside, he discovers his late father's magician props, costumes, and a recorded video message. The message explains that his father, Toichi Kuroba, performed as the phantom thief Kid until an unknown organization murdered him. Kaito decides to become the new Kid to draw out the killers. He sends a notice to Inspector Nakamori, stating he will steal the Dark Knight, a large black pearl on display at the Sunrise Museum. On the night of the heist, Kaito arrives disguised as a police officer, then switches to a reporter's outfit to bypass security. He uses smoke bombs and a ventriloquist dummy to misdirect guards. Aoko Nakamori, his classmate and the inspector's daughter, attempts to stop him by throwing wet tissues to remove his disguise, but he dodges and escapes. Kaito enters the sealed exhibition room, unlocks the case with a lock pick, and takes the pearl. He escapes through a window using a hang glider hidden in his cape. After landing safely, he inspects the pearl and discovers it is a fake made of resin. The museum director had replaced the real Dark Knight with a replica to claim insurance money. Kaito returns the fake pearl by placing it inside Inspector Nakamori's coat pocket during a public press conference. The episode ends with Kaito reaffirming his goal to find the true gem that his father sought, a legendary stone called Pandora, which the organization also pursues.
2Blue Birthday
Kaito Kid steals a jewel using a dummy decoy and a mini-zeppelin to distract Inspector Nakamori and his officers. After escaping with the gem,he answers a ringing public phone and receives a warning from an unknown man: stop stealing jewels or die. Kaito ignores the threat and announces his next target, the Blue Birthday, an exhibit from India. Aoko Nakamori confronts Kaito, upset that her father will miss her birthday party to guard the jewel. Kaito promises to attend the party and perform magic tricks, though he privately admits the heist takes priority. At the exhibit, Nakamori seals the Blue Birthday inside a laser-protected cage and attaches a powerful micro-transmitter to the jewel. Kaito drops a dummy into the cage, triggering Nakamori to cut the power and swarm the decoy. Disguised as an officer, Kaito slips through the crowd, steals the jewel, and locks the police inside the cage. On the rooftop, a man named Snake and his group shoot Kaito, mistaking him for Toichi Kuroba. Snake demands the Blue Birthday, mentioning a jewel called Pandora that grants eternal life. Kaito surrenders the gem, and Snake shoots him again before leaving. Kaito survives by using a fake jewel and leads Nakamori to the real Blue Birthday. He arrives late to Aoko’s party but creates a giant banner and fireworks display from a nearby building just before midnight. Kaito learns that the organization seeking Pandora also murdered his father and vows to find the gem first and destroy it.
3Hustler vs. Magician
Kaito and Aoko practice billiards at Konosuke Jii's Blue Parrot club. Jii recounts losing the gem-encrusted Legendary Cue years ago to professional player Tsujirou Hasura. The Syndicate boss who now owns the cue had secretly manipulated Jii's chalk to ensure his defeat. Kaito decides to retrieve the cue for Jii. Kaito sends a heist notice to Hasura at the exclusive American Pool Bar. To enter the bar,Kaito and Aoko pose as married university students while Jii accompanies them. Kaito deliberately loses ten consecutive matches against Hasura to bait him into a higher stakes game. Kaito wagers Jii's Blue Parrot against Hasura's Legendary Cue. Aoko, intoxicated from martinis, stumbles into the room and distracts Hasura during his opening shot. Kaito then executes a single double-jump shot that legally clears all balls from the table and wins the match. The Syndicate boss draws a weapon, but Jii cuts the lights, and Kaito appears as Kid to subdue the gang with paralyzing powder. Hasura stops Kid from taking the cue, declaring that Kaito won it fairly as the true champion. Kid honors Hasura's request and leaves the cue behind. Police arrive and arrest the Syndicate members while Hasura accepts his defeat. Kaito returns the Legendary Cue to Jii, who displays it in the Blue Parrot. The episode closes with Kaito affirming his identity as a magician, not a hustler, before a new challenger—a detective from London—prepares to step into the light.
4A Great Detective Comes to Light
Detective Saguru Hakuba returns from London and announces his intent to capture Kaito Kid. Kaito spies on police preparations for the heist of a painting called Adam's Smile at an ice skating rink next to the museum. Inside the museum,Hakuba questions Inspector Nakamori about Kid and discovers an unconscious police officer, confirming Kid's infiltration. Kid reveals the painting still behind his notice and attempts to escape through a window, but Hakuba has already cut away his weather balloon. Kid deploys his hang glider, crashes onto the skating rink, and escapes using a decoy doll. The next day, Hakuba transfers into Kaito's class and makes a bet with Kaito: if Hakuba captures Kid at the next heist, he will take Aoko to a concert. Kid targets a jeweled bracelet on a statue in a live television broadcast. Hakuba traps Kid in the basement and releases tear gas, then drops the only gas mask to the floor. Kid retrieves the mask and emerges disguised as Hakuba, fooling the police. Hakuba, still conscious in the basement, had previously bolted the statue to the ground, preventing theft of the bracelet. Inspector Nakamori shoots Kid's escape balloon, sending him crashing away. Both Hakuba and Kaito end up in neighboring hospital beds, and Aoko reluctantly attends the concert with her father.
5A Temptation in Scarlet
Akako Koizumi transfers into Kaito Kuroba's class on Valentine's Day. Her magical mirror warns her that only Kaito Kid resists her enchantments. In the classroom, all male students except Kaito fawn over Akako and accept her chocolate. Kaito asks her for chocolate as well, but Akako demands he throw away all other chocolates first. Kaito refuses and performs a magic trick to escape her grip, confirming to Akako that he is the Phantom Thief. Later at Jii's bar, Kaito learns that real magic exists and that witches have feuded with magicians for centuries. During a heist that night, Akako stabs a voodoo doll and immobilizes Kaito with pain from her mansion. She pulls Kaito into the sky atop a throne carried by ravens and traps him in a binding circle. Kaito refuses to eat her enchanted chocolate and become her slave. Aoko looks out her window and wishes for snow, which begins to fall and extinguishes Akako's flames. Kaito breaks free, destroys the chocolate, and leaves a red rose. He tells Akako that using magic to force feelings is sad, while his magic brings joy to those who know they are being deceived. Akako cries, temporarily losing her powers, but vows to make Kaito fall in love with her.
6Black Star
Kaito Kuroba reads news of Kaito Kid's successful heists on a tablet at school. Aoko Nakamori criticizes Kid as an arrogant criminal and discusses his announced target: a clock tower slated for sale. The tower's clock hands contain valuable diamonds, making them Kid's objective. Inspector Nakamori deploys police with helicopters and armored vehicles around the tower. Shinichi Kudo arrives from police headquarters and assumes command, overruling Nakamori's authority. Kid infiltrates the tower disguised as a police officer but reveals himself when Shinichi demands a twelve-digit service ID number. At midnight, smoke bombs detonate, and the clock hands appear to vanish. Shinichi realizes Kid projected fake hands onto a screen and shoots the screen's supports. Kid descends with the screen into the crowd and escapes. Before fleeing, Kid leaves a riddle on the clock face, preventing its sale until solved. Shinichi solves the riddle privately but discovers the diamonds are counterfeit, allowing the city to purchase the tower cheaply. Aoko remembers meeting Kaito as children in front of the same clock tower, where he performed a magic trick for her. Shinichi Kudo's deductive skills now mark him as Kid's most dangerous rival.
7Episode 7
Inspector Nakamori catches a glimpse of Kaito Kid's face during a heist for the Angel Crown. He tells his daughter Aoko that Kaito Kuroba is the phantom thief. Aoko refuses to believe him and forces Kaito to take her on a date the same day Kid has announced another heist. Aoko handcuffs herself to Kaito inside a 3D movie theater with a 40-minute runtime. Kaito leaves a life-sized doll in his seat and escapes to the heist location. At the museum,Nakamori hides under the crown display and ambushes Kid. Kid disguises himself as Aoko and claims Kaito Kuroba was only a disguise. He escapes, leaving Nakamori frustrated and uncertain. Kaito returns to the theater just before the movie ends, clearing suspicion from both Aoko and her father. After the date, Kaito eats ice cream with Aoko while his mother Chikage teases him over a video call. The episode closes with Nakamori questioning his own eyes while Kaito's alibi remains intact, but the inspector's suspicion of Kaito's dual identity lingers.
8The Adult's Charm
Aoko Nakamori drags Kaito Kuroba into school at night after Keiko Momoi reports seeing a ghost. While investigating the dark hallways,Aoko faints upon encountering the mysterious figure. Kaito reveals the ghost is actually Akako Koizumi practicing magic spells in the chemistry room after hours. The next day, Akako gives Aoko a charm said to help her mature, but Akako privately decides to erase Kaito from existence because he remains immune to her allure. Akako creates a cursed necklace that will force its wearer to kill Kaito Kid on sight. She places the charm on Inspector Ginzo Nakamori during Kaito Kid's heist for the Emperor's Gold Seal. The possessed inspector shoots at Kid and chases him across the rooftops. Kid escapes to a tightrope strung between buildings, where Akako confronts him directly. Akako attempts to cut the rope, but her magic backfires and transforms her into a child. The grappling hook detaches from the railing, sending Kid and Akako falling. Kid deploys his hang glider and catches Akako, saving both of them. Aoko later breaks the necklace, freeing her father from Akako's spell. With Akako's murder plot defeated but her obsession unresolved, Kaito continues his double life knowing the witch remains a persistent threat.
9Enter: The Phantom Lady
Kaito Kid steals a green gem from a museum and escapes by disguising himself as Aoko Nakamori. He finds a message on the gem's reverse side referencing an eighteen-year-old debt. After returning the gem via a mailbox,an unknown man photographs him in his Aoko disguise. President Gouzu and his associates review the photographs and conclude Inspector Nakamori must be the real Kaito Kid. Aoko shows Kaito Kuroba a hairpin shaped like Tokyo Tower and an invitation she won to a dinner there. Kaito learns a famous ruby will be exhibited at the tower on the same evening. Akako Koizumi suspects the invitation is a trap for Kid and decides to attend in Kaito's place. At Tokyo Tower, Akako recognizes Kaito disguised as Inspector Nakamori and leaves. Aoko sits inside a displayed car and presses the gas pedal, triggering handcuffs that bind her to the vehicle and knockout gas that renders her unconscious. President Gouzu appears with four armed men and addresses the disguised Kaito as Kid, demanding he remember their confrontation eighteen years prior. A flashback shows the Phantom Lady, Kaito's mother, attempting to steal a diamond from the Eiffel Tower, where Toichi Kuroba revealed Gouzu's scheme to counterfeit jewels. Toichi saved the Phantom Lady by crashing through a window and escaping with a hang glider. Kaito realizes Gouzu intends to have him steal the ruby only to replace it with fakes for the black market. With Aoko unconscious and guns trained on him, Kaito faces the same trap that ensnared his parents a generation ago.
10Phantom Lady and the Ryoma Treasure
Kaito Kid,disguised as Inspector Nakamori, drops smoke bombs inside the Toto Tower garage. He uses the cover of dark smoke to jump into the antique car where an unconscious Aoko lies handcuffed. Kaito starts the engine and drives several circles on the observation platform, then accelerates the car through a window. The antique car plummets from the top of Toto Tower, but steel wires Kaito had laid during his circular driving wrap around Gozo and his henchmen, tying them to the elevator area. After securing Aoko's safety, Kaito escapes the same way his father once did as the original Phantom Thief Kid. Kaito watches the news that evening and sees Gozo's counterfeit ring arrested. He calls his mother Chikage, who thanks him for stopping the forgers and assigns him a new task. Chikage explains that Gozo had two apprentices who continue the same criminal business model. Kaito must now return stolen items that his mother, as the Phantom Lady, originally took from the estate of Ryoma Sakamoto. Kaito sends a vague heist notice to the Suzuki Museum, announcing he will return three treasures during the Ryoma exhibition. Disguised as a young police officer, Kaito scouts the museum's security layout and runs into Conan Edogawa. Kaito recognizes the detective as a serious obstacle but forms a plan after noting the next day's forecast calls for rain. He sends a second notice that specifies the exact time of the return, leaving the police less than twenty-four hours to prepare.
11Kid - Conan - and the Ryoma Treasure Illusion
Kaito Kuroba executes a reverse heist at the Suzuki Museum to expose museum director Hanamura and appraiser Tarumi as frauds. He plans to return forged replicas of Ryoma Sakamoto's artifacts while revealing the criminals' scheme to sell counterfeit goods. Conan Edogawa's presence at the museum complicates Kaito's plan,as the young detective observes the security measures. Kaito disguises himself as an overweight middle-aged man and removes lead from fake pistol replicas to bypass metal detectors. He also covers the original exhibit information signs with new labels identifying the items as forgeries. With his butler Jii's assistance, Kaito hides additional replica items throughout the museum gallery. Kaito, as Kaitou Kid, triggers the ceiling sprinklers by pretending to breathe fire, dousing the entire room. The water washes over the covered signs, revealing messages that direct police to the hidden forgeries. Hanamura and Tarumi's henchmen attempt to frame Kid for stealing a rare pistol, but the discovered replicas expose their counterfeit operation. Conan deduces Kaito's disguise by observing the ankles of everyone present, taking advantage of his own reduced height. Conan confronts Kaito after the heist but chooses not to arrest him, citing his mother's admiration for Ryoma Sakamoto. Kaito reveals that the Phantom Lady, who committed similar thefts decades earlier, was his mother Chikage Kuroba. As Kaito leaves the museum disguised as an elderly man, he overhears Aoko Nakamori making unflattering remarks about him, causing him visible self-consciousness. The episode concludes with Inspector Nakamori arresting the frauds, while Kaito's search for the Pandora gem that can grant immortality continues.
12Holy Night: Two Kid the Phantom Thieves
Kaito Kid remains absent for three months. Kaito Kuroba recovers from a cold and studies for winter exams at Ekoda High School. Konosuke Jii's back injury prevents him from gathering information on jewel targets. Department store president Zaizen fabricates a Kid heist notice to increase Christmas Eve sales at the Tofu Department Store. He hires his manager to impersonate Kid and steal the Giant's Star,a diamond-and-emerald tree topper. Zaizen promises the manager a vice president position in exchange for playing the role. Kaito helps Aoko Nakamori prepare a Christmas party at the Nakamori residence, unaware of the false notice. He learns of the fake heist from a television broadcast featuring Zaizen selling Kid-themed merchandise. Kaito excuses himself from the party and travels to the store. Police arrest the impostor Kid as he attempts to flee the Christmas tree. The real Kaito Kid arrives and shoots the Giant's Star from the tree top with his card gun. He ignites the tree's decorative tinsel, collapses the tree's base, and sends the entire tree crashing into the department store entrance. Kid's attack damages the storefront and forces Zaizen to use his merchandise profits for repairs. Kid returns the Giant's Star to Inspector Nakamori's home, placing it atop the family's own Christmas tree. The exhausted Inspector Nakamori returns from the failed heist and discovers the jewel, doubting whether his eyes deceive him.
14Crystal Mother
Kaito and Aoko board the Royal Express, the same train transporting Queen Selizabeth of Ingram and her son, Prince Philip. The Queen wears a large topaz called the Crystal Mother, which Kaito has announced he will steal. Kaito quickly identifies the jewel around the Queen’s neck as a replica. He searches the train for the real Crystal Mother while avoiding the sharp-eyed prince. The Queen occupies Inspector Nakamori with drinking games throughout the night. Kaito notices that the ice in the Inspector’s drink has not melted. He realizes the Crystal Mother is not a necklace but a massive gem frozen inside a large ice cube in the Inspector’s glass. Kaito, as Kaito Kid, takes the jewel and escapes to the train roof. Prince Philip and Snake, an agent from the organization hunting Pandora, follow him onto the roof. Snake threatens Philip’s life to force Kaito to hand over the Crystal Mother. Kaito discovers the Crystal Mother does not contain the Pandora gem. He shifts his objective from stealing the jewel to protecting the prince. Kaito uses the train passing through a tunnel to shake Snake off the roof. He speaks with Philip, who only wants his mother’s affection and believes returning the jewel will prove his worth. Kaito creates a situation where Philip fakes a fall from the train, forcing the Queen to drop her stern facade and reveal her genuine love for her son. Kaito leaves the Crystal Mother inside a glass of water belonging to Aoko, returning the jewel without keeping it. Snake survives the fall and reports to his superior, vowing to kill Kid the next time they meet.
15The Princess and the Thief's Improv
Princess Anne of a foreign country arrives in Japan with her priceless diamond, the Beaucoup de Soleil à Paris. Kaito Kuroba, as Kaitou Kid, announces his intention to steal the jewel. European security expert Detective Delon arrives and replaces Inspector Nakamori as head of the heist security. Delon carries a gun and shoots at suspects without warning. Nakamori faces removal from the Kaitou Kid task force entirely. Kaito learns of Nakamori's predicament and decides to intervene. Kaito visits Nakamori and offers him a lucky rabbit doll as a gift. He explains that a magician always prepares the next trick in advance and misdirects the audience's attention. Kid launches his heist and deliberately exposes himself to draw Delon's fire. Princess Anne, charmed by Kid, cooperates with his performance and helps create diversions. Kid disables Delon and his European team through a series of rapid illusions. He slips the stolen diamond into the lucky rabbit doll inside Nakamori's pocket. Nakamori emerges from the chaos holding the doll, and the police believe he has recovered the jewel. Kid publicly praises Nakamori as a worthy adversary, ensuring Nakamori remains on the case. Kaito returns the diamond to Princess Anne after testing it against moonlight and finding no Pandora trace. The episode ends with Kid gliding away as Inspector Nakamori's position is secure, but the mysterious organization hunting Pandora continues to watch from the shadows.
16Kid vs Conan: Miraculous Airwalking
Jirokichi Suzuki challenges Kaito Kid to steal the Blue Wonder from the top of a building, deploying private security and numerous helicopters to block the thief. Conan Edogawa joins the security team, adding a sharp detective to the police forces. Kid accepts the challenge and devises a scheme to appear as if he is walking on air. With his butler's help, he uses a helicopter and wires to sneak past more than twenty aircraft without the pilots noticing the cables attached to his back. During the heist, Kid disguises himself as Jirokichi. Conan sees through the disguise and waits inside Kid's planned escape car. Kid enters the vehicle without realizing Conan hides inside. Conan reveals himself and aims his tranquilizer gun at the thief. Kid's fuel line gets hit by the tranquilizer dart, forcing him to activate a backup escape trick designed specifically for such emergencies. The episode shows Kid debating his actions and paying attention to the ordinary people around him before committing to the heist. The heist unfolds from Kid's perspective rather than Conan's, offering a different view of their rivalry. Kid delivers a line comparing detectives and phantom thieves to the sea and sky: different in appearance but fundamentally similar in their curiosity-driven intrusion into secrets. Conan counters by arguing the scientific difference between why the sky appears blue versus why the sea appears blue. Kid escapes the immediate trap, but Conan remains on his trail, setting up continued conflict between the magician and the detective.
17Green Dream
Kaito Kuroba targets the Green Dream, the world's largest emerald, which serves as a stage prop for a local play's opening night. He disguises himself as a part-time stagehand to scout the theater and study its security. Kaito observes the lead actress, the theater owner's daughter, who constantly ridicules the cast and improvises lines to make them appear incompetent. He also notices a shy actress playing Servant A who has memorized every role but suffers from severe stage fright. Kaito decides to transform the timid actress into the play's new star during his heist. Inspector Nakamori deploys a large police force and guards the electrical room, anticipating that Kid will trigger a blackout to steal the jewel. Instead of cutting the lights, Kaito programs the stage's extra lights to flash simultaneously, temporarily blinding the audience. Under the cover of the blinding flash, Kaito executes the theft while ensuring the shy actress delivers a standout performance that captivates the audience. He later confirms the Green Dream is not the Pandora Gem and returns it, having no need for the jewel itself. The episode ends with preparations for Kaito's next confrontation against a new phantom thief rival arriving from France.
18Golden Eye (Part One): Chat Noir's Challenge
While escaping police helicopters after a heist,Kaito Kid encounters a paragliding figure in mid-air. The stranger, Chat Noir, mocks Kid's outfit as a Lupin imitation and challenges him to a duel. Chat Noir invites Kid to steal the "Golden Eye," a cat's-eye ring once owned by Marie Antoinette, from the Hotel Ocean on Sunday at 9 PM. Kaito initially plans to refuse, but Chat Noir publicizes the challenge in Japanese and French newspapers, forcing Kaito to accept. At the hotel, Inspector Nakamori examines the ring, the seventh and final piece of Marie Antoinette's accessory collection that Chat Noir has not yet stolen. Hotel security designer Alain Cartier explains the countermeasures: titanium-reinforced windows, elevators that will shut down on the top floor at 9 PM, and locked stairwells. Cartier places the ring on Nakamori's finger and instructs him to keep his hand clenched in a fist, making theft seemingly impossible without amputation. Kaito and Aoko arrive to deliver lunch to Nakamori, allowing Kaito to inspect the security setup. Kaito later drugs a police officer in the bathroom and steals his uniform for a disguise. Saguru Hakuba calls Kaito from Paris, providing intel that Chat Noir previously returned stolen jewels but began keeping the pieces he took from Dan Mitsuishi, the ring's owner. Disguised as an officer, Kaito sends Aoko away and prepares for the heist. Chat Noir already lurks nearby, watching Nakamori and waiting for Kaito to make the first move. The episode ends with both phantom thieves inside the secured hotel, each unaware of the other's exact location.
19Golden Eye (Part 2): Kid vs. Chat Noir: Endgame!
Five minutes before the scheduled heist, officers flood the exhibition room with twenty sets of floodlights under a false order attributed to Inspector Nakamori. The combined lights blow a fuse and plunge the room into total darkness. Chat Noir uses the blackout to cut the bottom of Nakamori's tie, while Kaito Kid rotates the ring on Nakamori's finger and covers it with a dummy sticker. When the lights return, Nakamori sees the sticker, assumes thieves stole the jewel, rips off his glove, and throws it to the ground. Kid, disguised as a police officer, retrieves the glove and later presents a fake unconscious guard to mislead the officers into attacking the real security chief. Kid escapes into an elevator and climbs to the top, where no titanium security wires exist. Chat Noir calls Kid from an airplane and claims she cut the real ring from Nakamori's tie pin, but she discovers she holds another replica. Kid reveals he swapped the genuine ring earlier that evening when he adjusted Nakamori's tie during a meal break. Kid deduces Chat Noir's true identity as Ruby Jones from a contradiction: she claimed her birthstone (ruby) and Aoko's (sapphire) have close dates, but in France those stones correspond to March and April, while in Japan they represent July and September. Ruby admits her father created seven replica rings for Dan Mitsuishi's father, and after the shame of passing replicas as originals drove her father to suicide, she has been collecting all seven copies. Kid returns the real ring by having his accomplice drop it into Ruby's champagne glass. Police discover the unconscious guard is real and pursue Kid onto the elevator roof. The additional weight of Nakamori and his men causes the elevator to fall, breaking through the glass tunnel Kid had previously cut. Kid escapes using his hang glider, and Chat Noir acknowledges that Kaito Kid is truly Kaito Kuroba. Kid concludes that Chat Noir will likely never steal again, having completed her mission to reclaim her father's replicas.
20Dark Knight
A rainstorm traps Kaito Kid in an alley, preventing his hang glider escape, when a voice from a discarded walkie-talkie offers him a route to safety. The voice belongs to Nightmare, an international criminal strategist who provides escape plans to thieves in exchange for half their loot. Police records show that every thief who partners with Nightmare ends up arrested or dead the following day. One week later, Inspector Nakamori summons Kaito Kuroba to inspect security for the Dark Knight, a pair of black opal earrings suspended in a water-filled, electrified case. At the museum, Kaito meets Interpol agent Chuck Connery and his son Kenta, a boy suffering from a rare brain disease that will kill him without treatment. Kenta believes his father promised that capturing Nightmare will secure the funds for his operation. Kaito, as Kid, knocks out the museum curator, replaces him, and uses a transparent glass partition inside the water case to make fake earrings appear floating when the emergency lights activate. Kid steals the real Dark Knight earrings and meets Nightmare at a cliffside rendezvous, where he unmasks the criminal as Chuck Connery. Connery draws a gun on Kid, but his son Kenta arrives, calling out; the distraction causes Connery to lose his balance, and he falls to his death rather than release the earrings. Kid fires his card gun to shoot away Connery's Nightmare mask before Kenta sees his father's face, preserving the boy's memory of a hero. Detective Hakuba walks away with Kid, both knowing that Connery became Nightmare solely to save his son's life.
21Kid vs Conan: Teleportation Under the Moonlight
Jirokichi Suzuki challenges Kaitou Kid to steal the Purple Nails,a shoe adorned with a 100-carat amethyst displayed on a Kinza intersection. Kaito Kuroba scouts the location with Aoko Nakamori, who accidentally triggers a net trap concealed in the street and later gives Kaito an idea for his escape trick. At 8 PM, Kid lands on the podium using a smoke bomb and takes the jewel, but a large net rises from the street to trap everyone inside. Kid announces he will escape by teleportation. Three numbered cards appear on spectators, and after the third card, Kid appears on a nearby rooftop. He returns the jewel as a fake and declares he will steal the real one the following night. Conan Edogawa shoots a football from his belt, striking Kid's cheek as the thief glides away. The next evening, Kid cancels his heist due to a lack of spectators, then starts a riot that forces the police to let the crowd inside the net. Kid confronts Conan briefly before disappearing. Conan deduces that Kid will hide in a news helicopter, but Kid instead uses a black costume and a winch mechanism attached to a building's LED screen to ascend. Conan waits on the rooftop and reveals he has known the trick all along, having waited for Kid to lower his guard. Kid draws his pistol, distracts Conan, and pulls his assistant Jii from the facade, escaping together while discarding the Purple Nails.
22Red Tear
Kaito Kuroba cancels his planned heist of the Red Tear after recalling his father's words about the gem. Akako Koizumi warns Aoko and Kaito that the ruby carries a curse and brings misfortune to its owner. In the city,a pickpocket steals Aoko's wallet, but a young woman retrieves and returns it. The woman introduces herself as Jody Hopper, the owner of the Red Tear and the leader of a traveling magic troupe. Jody expresses disdain for magicians because her parents died during a performance ten years earlier. Kaito notices Snake and his men following Jody and deduces the organization seeks the gem. Jody gives Aoko two tickets to her final show at the Minato Hotel. During the performance, an impostor disguised as Kaitou Kid creates a diversion with a smoke bomb. Snake and his men capture Robert, Jody's assistant, and demand the Red Tear. Snake shoots at Jody, but Kaito, disguised as a troupe member named Paul, takes the bullet in her place. Kaito reveals his true identity as Kaitou Kid and escapes with Jody using a smoke grenade. Snake wounds Kid in the arm during the pursuit. Jody uses alcohol from Kid's flask to blow fire at Snake, temporarily blinding him. Kid activates a rotating mechanism in the hotel's top-floor restaurant, disorienting Snake and pinning him down with card gun shots. Snake falls through a window and lands on a nearby roof with the impostor. Kid holds a lighter near the Red Tear, and the gem glows red, projecting images of Jody's childhood and a message from her deceased grandfather. The message encourages Jody to rediscover her love for magic. One projected image shows Toichi Kuroba, Kaito's father, revealing that James Hopper, Jody's grandfather, was Toichi's mentor. Jody decides to continue her career as a magician. The episode ends with Kaito learning a new connection between his father and the Hopper family, deepening the mystery surrounding his father's past.

Kaito Kuroba listens to his late father Toichi's final recording while preparing for a heist. He targets the Midnight Crow, the world's largest black diamond. The heist goes wrong when Inspector Nakamori and Saguru Hakuba spring a trap in a freezing room. Kaito escapes using a double disguise, but the police advisor, Harry Nezu, orchestrated the ambush. Nezu, a magic debunker, arrives in Japan claiming interest in catching a different thief. A new notice appears from Kaito Corbeau, a phantom thief in a black costume. Corbeau confronts Kaito on a rooftop and claims he studied alongside Toichi Kuroba. He challenges Kaito to a wager: if Kaito cannot uncover his trick, Kaito must retire as Kaito Kid. Kaito accepts, and Corbeau vows to steal the Midnight Crow without touching it. Corbeau makes his debut, releasing black feathers and swapping the diamond for a coin despite Nakamori holding the pedestal. Nezu reveals he swapped the real diamond with a copy beforehand. Kaito returns home to find his mother Chikage waiting inside.
24Midnight Crow (Part 2): Clash! Black or White!?
Chikage Kuroba arrives at Kaito's home and proposes he abandon his Kaito Kid identity to work as a magician in Las Vegas. Kaito refuses, insisting he must find the murderer of his father, Toichi. At school, Aoko Nakamori mentions her father discovered a strange red handcuff-shaped bruise on his body. Kaito connects this clue to a black stain on his own lip and deduces the trick behind Kaito Corbeau's previous theft. That evening, Harry Nezu lowers the temperature of the exhibition hall and installs a large fan to counter falling feathers. Kaito Corbeau appears, replaces the Midnight Crow diamond with a coin, and escapes through a window. Nezu declares he switched the real jewel for a fake in his pocket, but the pocket contains only a poor copy. Kaito Kid reveals Nezu colored the real diamond with a marker and placed a black ice replica inside the case. The ice melted, leaving only the coin, proving Nezu and Corbeau are partners. Snake and his men arrive, demanding the Pandora stone and drawing guns on both thieves. Corbeau shields Kaito, uses a heated serving tray to ignite feathers, and fires a card into the sprinkler system, freezing the attackers. Inspector Nakamori and Saguru Hakuba return to find the room empty and a note from Kid stating he returned the jewel. Corbeau flies away with Kid, returns Kaito's card gun, and states that magicians and thieves both create miracles. Kaito finds a farewell letter from his mother, who hints she knows about his hand warmers, suggesting she may have been watching him. At Jii's bar, Aoko proposes forming a detective team with Hakuba and Akako Koizumi to capture Kaito Kid. Back in his magic room, Kaito plays his father's final recording, which tells him to believe in his own imagination, and Kaito vows to surpass Toichi.
