Atsumi Tanezaki is a Japanese voice actress born on September 27, 1990, in Oita Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent agency Tokyo Actor's Consumer's Cooperative Society (Haikyo). Her journey to becoming a voice actor was inspired by the anime Sailor Moon; the performance of the voice actors in a particular episode left a deep impression on her and motivated her to pursue the career herself. After graduating from high school, she worked to save money for voice actor training school and moved to Tokyo to begin her studies. She made her debut as a voice actor in 2009.

Tanezaki's early career included a significant amount of work in video games, often using different stage names. Her transition to anime saw her take on a wide array of supporting roles, gradually building a reputation for her versatile vocal range. A notable early role was Lisa Mishima in the 2014 series Terror in Resonance. She continued to gain recognition for parts such as Chise Hatori in The Ancient Magus' Bride, Mizore Yoroizuka in the Sound! Euphonium series and its film Liz and the Blue Bird, and Rio Futaba in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai.

The breadth of Tanezaki's work is extensive, covering many genres and character types. In the long-running franchise, she voiced Arisa Uotani in the final seasons of Fruits Basket. She took on the role of the young protagonist Dai in the 2020 adaptation of Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai and voiced Juno in BEASTARS. In 2021, she starred as the titular AI songstress in Vivy -Fluorite Eye's Song- and voiced Emporio Alnino in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. That same year, she also voiced Sajuna Inui in My Dress-Up Darling and Tome Kurata in Mob Psycho 100 III, demonstrating her continued presence in a variety of hit shows. In 2023, she took on the lead role of the elf mage Frieren in the critically acclaimed fantasy series Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. She has also been cast as the lead, Iroha Inukai / Cure Friendy, in the 2024 long-running magical girl franchise Wonderful Precure!.

Tanezaki's talent and growing prominence have been recognized with major industry awards. At the 14th Seiyu Awards in 2020, she won the award for Best Supporting Actress. She achieved a rare feat at the 17th Seiyu Awards in 2023, winning both the Best Lead Actress Award for her role as Dai and the Best Supporting Actress Award for her role as Anya Forger, making her the first recipient to win in both main and supporting categories in the same year.

Regarding collaborations, while her filmography shows she frequently works with many directors and fellow voice actors, there are a couple of notable recurrences. She has worked with voice actor Tomokazu Seki in multiple projects, including Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. In her personal life, she married fellow voice actor Yu Miyazaki in 2023.
