Description
Charlotte Zenfis is a central figure in the story as the adoptive younger sister of the protagonist, Haruto Zenfis, being three years his junior. She comes from a noble family with connections to the royal court of the Kingdom of Orteas. Physically, Charlotte is described as a cute young girl with long blonde hair and blue eyes, though she is noted to be small for her age.

Initially, Charlotte is cautious and keeps her distance from Haruto, primarily out of fear of his immense and overwhelming magical power which she could sense from a young age. This hesitant behavior changes dramatically after a pivotal event where she and her mother are attacked by imperial soldiers on their way to a festival. Haruto saves them in the last second, causing her previous suspicion and fear to transform into deep trust, admiration, and a strong emotional bond with her brother. Following this rescue, she becomes incredibly close to him, viewing him as a hero of justice and a reliable figure.

Charlotte's personality is defined by her exceptional intelligence and insatiable curiosity. This is most prominently displayed when she gains access to a network created by Haruto, which contains anime from another world. She becomes completely fascinated by these shows, quickly mastering the Japanese language all on her own and becoming an avid anime enthusiast. This exposure leads her to develop chuunibyou symptoms, a tendency towards dramatic fantasy and grandiose behavior, inspired by the magical girl genre. She adopts the persona of a fashionable magical girl named Weiss Owl, believing the capital is home to a grand conspiracy to fight evil and bring justice, a notion that ironically proves to have some truth to it. She forms a small faction of allies, including Liza, Flay, and Johnny, to help her brother in these imagined heroic endeavors.

Beyond her fanciful persona, Charlotte is a prodigious genius with a remarkable aptitude for magical theory and research. Her natural magical potential is extraordinarily high, with a maximum magic level noted to be either 51 or 61, which is even greater than that of the queen, Gizelotte. Her abilities manifested at an extremely young age; she was able to create a fireball when she was just three months old, which led her family to seal her magic until the age of five due to safety concerns. She is capable of comprehending complex, advanced magical theory books from early childhood. Using the magical tools and devices created by Haruto, she formulates and publishes revolutionary new magical theories. To the shock of the academic community, she does this under the pseudonym Weiss Owl, becoming a mysterious and highly respected figure in magical academia. Her research even inadvertently helps improve Haruto's own academic knowledge.

A key relationship in her life is with Queen Gizelotte Orteus. Because of her immense magical talent and her family's close ties to the royal line, the queen views Charlotte as a future rival to the throne and a direct threat to her power. As a result, Gizelotte makes several attempts on Charlotte's life when she is young. In response to these threats, Haruto places a powerful magical surveillance barrier on Charlotte to ensure her safety. She unconsciously adapts this spell, developing a unique extrasensory perception that gives her a feeling that something interesting or dangerous is about to happen whenever Haruto himself is in peril. Another significant achievement born from her desire to see her brother act as a hero is the creation of Shiva, a being that comes into existence due to her strong will. Over the course of the story, Charlotte evolves from a frightened child who is a target of political intrigue into a confident, brilliant young mage. She becomes a vital ally to Haruto, using her unique skills and intelligence not just to play a heroic fantasy, but to make concrete, groundbreaking contributions to the world of magic, all while maintaining her undying faith and affection for her adoptive brother.
