Description
Chikage Fujimura reigns as Japan's undisputed top Circlet Bout player and serves as team captain for Kurojishi Sougou Academy. Her appearance features long red hair extending past her hips, typically styled with bangs obscuring one eye, and distinctive golden irises. She maintains a slender, athletic physique regularly displayed in Circlet Bout gear: an initial black, silver, and light-blue ensemble later replaced by a predominantly black outfit accented with red and purple, including a signature cape during pivotal matches.

Chikage commands exceptional skill in Circlet Bout, a mixed-reality combat sport where players manifest virtual weapons. She wields a versatile extendable purple blade tailored to breach defenses, reflecting her aggressive tactics. Dominance breeds profound boredom and emotional detachment due to scarce worthy rivals, resulting in a cold, reserved demeanor. Teammates regard her with rivalry rather than camaraderie, exacerbated by her overshadowing presence as the primary spectator attraction.

A transformative exhibition match against inexperienced newcomer Yūka Sasaki reignites Chikage's passion. Yūka unexpectedly withstands her assault, eliciting Chikage's first visible excitement and smile amid prior disillusionment. Though terminated prematurely by system failure, the clash solidifies Chikage's respect for Yūka and fuels her rematch demand. Like Yūka, Chikage exploits the "Overheat Phenomenon" for enhanced combat maneuvers, her circlet evolving with intensified determination. She later integrates hand-to-hand techniques, amplifying her speed and unpredictability.

Chikage received early mentorship from a developer of Circlet Bout's mixed-reality technology, who provided her advanced circlet. This device accelerated her growth but demanded innate talent and rigorous training, highlighting her natural aptitude. Her arc culminates in a tournament rematch against Yūka where both demonstrate evolution through repeated mid-duel enhancements. Though defeated, Chikage accepts the loss gracefully, maintaining optimism. Subsequent rule changes prioritizing team-based matches prompt her departure from Japan to pursue solo competitions abroad.
