TV-Series
Description
Koto Tsukinoki is a third-year student at Tsuwabuki High School and the vice president of the Literature Club. She belongs to the group of characters sometimes described as winning heroines, standing alongside the series’ central heartbroken figures. Tall and youthful, she wears her dark hair in long twintails and is rarely seen without her glasses, and she typically dons a longer skirt that reaches her knees.
Her appearance and calm demeanor project an intellectual, composed aura, yet her actual academic performance is notably weak and does not match that image. In truth, Koto is cheerful, laid-back, and prone to acting before thinking through the consequences. She is a devoted fujoshi with a vivid imagination, and she becomes intensely animated and talkative whenever boys’ love fiction is the topic. This passion drives her to write her own BL novels, which often inspire the club’s creative writing activities and lend her a flamboyant, energetic presence.
Koto’s role in the story is that of a supportive older student who helps shape the club’s atmosphere and guide its newer members. She has known Shintaro Tamaki since childhood, and over the course of the series their bond deepens into a confirmed romantic relationship, making him her boyfriend. At one point a personal falling-out serves as an emotional turning point in her school life, adding a more serious layer to her otherwise comedic fujoshi persona. She shares a competitive yet caring dynamic with fellow club member Chika Komari, frequently teasing her but also offering genuine support during club activities.
As graduation approaches, Koto’s development shifts toward passing on her responsibilities. She recognizes potential in Kazuhiko Nukumizu and entrusts him with the Literature Club’s future, mentoring him so that the group can continue in her absence. After graduating, she leaves the club together with Tamaki, a departure that leaves a lasting impact on the remaining members and the direction of the club. Beyond her creative writing, Koto is noted for being trustworthy and is good at managing finances, further underscoring her reliability as a club officer. Her journey moves her from a laid-back, BL-obsessed upperclassman toward a more grounded figure who navigates personal growth, romantic fulfillment, and the graceful handing over of her leadership role.
