Natsuki Moriyama is a student at Gekkoukan High School who initially appears as a bully targeting Fuuka Yamagishi, but later becomes her closest friend. She is recognizable by her ganguro appearance, with a deeply tanned complexion and orange-toned hair. Her personality is sharp and blunt; she has a knack for analyzing people and often says harsh things that cut to a person's insecurities. This behavior is rooted in her own insecurities—her parents pay very little attention to her, leaving her feeling invisible. She bullies Fuuka as a way to assert herself, but when Fuuka disappears after being locked in the school gymnasium, Natsuki becomes involved in the events surrounding the Dark Hour. She is drawn into Tartarus by Fuuka's voice and is saved from a Shadow when Fuuka awakens her Persona, Lucia, creating a protective shell. After the incident, Natsuki loses her memory of the supernatural encounter but sincerely apologizes to Fuuka, and the two quickly develop a genuine friendship. Natsuki's frank and confident attitude has a positive influence on Fuuka, helping her become more assertive. Later, when her father falls ill and her family must move due to financial hardship, Natsuki reveals her own loneliness to Fuuka, deepening their bond. Before leaving, she sends Fuuka a text message saying, No matter how far apart we may be, we will always be connected, which gives Fuuka the resolve to unlock a more powerful Persona. Natsuki also offers blunt advice, telling Fuuka that if people do not accept her for who she is, she should not worry about them. In the story, Natsuki functions as a catalyst for Fuuka's emotional growth and eventual induction into the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad.
