Jorge Roig Jr. is a Mexican actor and director of dubbing with a career spanning nearly five decades. He was born into a family with deep roots in the voice acting industry, as the son of renowned actors Jorge Roig and Rocío Garcel. His introduction to the profession came at the age of five, almost by accident, when he was asked to cover a missing child's line in a studio session while accompanying his mother. This early start, guided by industry veterans, set the course for his lifelong career.

Roig Jr. is widely recognized for his extensive work in anime, having lent his voice to a multitude of iconic characters. He is particularly well-known for his roles in the long-running franchise Captain Tsubasa, where he voices the powerful striker Kojirō Hyūga, known as Steve Hyuga in some adaptations, and also provided the voice for a young Tsubasa Ōzora, or Oliver Atom. His repertoire in anime also includes the character KR in Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table, Lorenzo in the comedy series Cuticle Detective Inaba, the protagonist Blade in Tekkaman Blade, and multiple characters in the Saint Seiya universe, such as Bud de Alcor and Sorrento de Sirena. He has also taken on roles in popular series like Naruto, One Piece, and Sailor Moon Crystal.

Beyond anime, his voice is recognizable from a wide array of animated series and films. He is celebrated as the first Latin Spanish voice of Sonic the Hedgehog in the 1990s series Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, a role he reprised nearly three decades later for the Knuckles miniseries. Other notable roles include Quasimodo in Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Carlos Finster in Rugrats, and Fox Mulder in the first season of The X-Files. His performance as Quasimodo was so highly regarded that it earned him recognition from Disney executives.

Throughout his career, Roig Jr. has been part of a close-knit community of voice actors, with recurring collaborations evident in his filmography, including work with directors like Narciso Busquets. In addition to acting, he has also worked as a dubbing director, contributing to projects such as Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. He is also a musician and a member of the rock band "Las voces fantásticas".
