Description
Miki Aono, a 14-year-old second-year student at Private Torigoe Academy—a prestigious institution for entertainment talents—balances her civilian life as an aspiring fashion model with her role as Cure Berry. Residing with her mother, Remi, after her parents’ divorce, she maintains a disciplined routine to uphold her appearance and physique, frequently joining dance sessions with childhood friends Momozono Love and Yamabuki Inori. Her striking features—tall stature, long violet hair, and piercing indigo eyes—often attract admirers, leading her to temporarily recruit her younger brother Kazuki, who lives with their father, as a decoy boyfriend to deflect unwanted attention.

Her transformation into Cure Berry activates through the Burun, a crowned blue Pickrun, when her resolve to shield Kazuki from a Nakewameke attack surges. As Cure Berry, her hair shifts to lavender in a curled side ponytail, accessorized with a heart-detailed headband and blue choker. Her battle attire—a cropped pale blue top with ruffled sleeves, a layered skirt adorned with a hip ribbon, and knee-high boots—embodies hope through blue hues and spade motifs. Her combat arsenal includes the Espoir Shower, a spade-shaped energy blast, and the amplified Espoir Shower Fresh, unlocked after bonding with the infant fairy Chiffon during a babysitting trial. This advancement follows a struggle to match her teammates’ growing powers, teaching her responsibility through nurturing Chiffon.

Initially distrustful of former antagonist Eas, now Cure Passion (Setsuna Higashi), Miki’s skepticism softens after collaborative battles, such as thwarting a missile assault and witnessing Setsuna’s redemption. Pragmatic and level-headed, she often grounds the team but occasionally reveals impatience under stress, particularly when managing Chiffon’s antics or confronting a deep-seated fear of octopuses from childhood.

Her modeling ambitions briefly clash with hero duties during a critical audition, where she nearly forfeits both dancing and Cure responsibilities. Yet she abandons the audition to aid her team, reaffirming her loyalty to their cause. In cinematic crossovers, she participates in the Triple Fresh attack in *Fresh PreCure the Movie: The Kingdom of Toys has Lots of Secrets!?* and ascends to Cure Rainbow Berry in *Pretty Cure All Stars DX 2*, gaining golden wings and a lighter blue palette within a 17-Cure alliance.

Family bonds define her: she dotes protectively on Kazuki and shares a playful, affectionate dynamic with Remi. Her name echoes her essence—"Aono" incorporates "blue" (ao), aligning with her theme color, while "Miki" blends "beauty" (mi) and "hope" (ki), the latter mirrored in Kazuki’s name. This duality cements her identity as the "Cure of Hope," merging elegance and resolve.

Her growth from a perfectionist prone to frustration to a resilient leader embracing vulnerability unfolds through tearful reconciliations with Chiffon and strategic teamwork. She contributes the Espoir Leaf to the Lucky Clover Grand Finale attack, symbolizing hope’s unifying force against existential threats, solidifying her legacy as a pillar of perseverance and collaboration.
