Description
Liza Wildman is a central character in Princess Resurrection, depicted as a teenage girl of mixed heritage. Born to a human mother and Volg Wildman, a powerful werewolf, she is a half-breed with a strong connection to her werewolf lineage. She has short red hair and yellow eyes, and her appearance is often characterized as tomboyish, typically wearing casual clothing such as a crop top and cargo pants. Her personality is direct, impulsive, and quick to anger, often assuming that others are mocking her even when they are not. Despite this, she possesses a strong sense of loyalty and pride, viewing herself as an honorable werewolf warrior and disdaining underhanded tactics.
Her primary motivation at the outset of the story stems from a misunderstanding. She initially believes that Hime, the princess of the monster royalty, murdered her older brother, Lobo Wildman. Driven by a desire for vengeance, she confronts Hime, but eventually learns the truth: Lobo was killed by the schemes of someone else within the royal family. After reconciling with Hime, Liza decides to remain with her to uncover the true instigator of her brother's death. This shifts her role from an antagonist to a steadfast ally and assault leader, using her combat abilities to assist Hime in the ongoing battles against other monster factions.
Liza's key relationships include her bond with Hime, which evolves from hostility to trust and cooperation. She also develops a rivalry with Reiri, another character within Hime's circle, and the two initially clash frequently. Over time, however, their relationship improves after fighting together against a common enemy, Kiniski. She appears to have romantic feelings for Hiro, the human boy who serves as Hime's blood warrior, and her interactions with him are notably softer. Her relationship with her brother, Lobo, is deeply important to her; he raised her after their father died, and his loss is a driving force behind her actions.
Her notable abilities are rooted in her werewolf blood. Because she is a half-breed, her transformation is limited: she can only change her arms up to the elbow into muscular, powerful wolf paws. In this state, she gains immense strength and agility, but her overall combat capability is not equal to that of a pure-blooded werewolf. She compensates for this limitation with a love for speed, frequently riding motorcycles and jet-skis, which she uses both for recreation and in combat. She is also known to wield weapons such as a metal pole and a rifle.
Throughout the series, Liza develops from a revenge-driven loner into a loyal member of Hime's group. Her initial anger and suspicion give way to a more cooperative and trusting nature, especially as she learns to work alongside those she once considered enemies. Her rivalry with Reiri softens, and her protective instincts toward Hiro and Hime grow. She remains fiercely independent and proud, but her experiences teach her the value of alliances and the complexity of the world she is a part of.
